What Do You Make?

I make things out of wood whenever I can. Props, guitars and other bits when I find a nice piece of wood.

I draw my own plans and working drawings.

BTW, I have built some pretty nice guitars but can't play the darn things. :D

I'm a geek at heart, so the things I make usually involve electronics and are Scifi related. Recognize these?

As I look at everything posted in this thread I see much creativity. I wish there were one online store where all sold their products. This is especially true of all American made items. So many Americans today think we don't make anything anymore.

I've heard many say they wish Americans still made this or that. Most people think China now makes everything. But I'm betting somebody out there is making just about anything one could imagine. The problem is, that person or persons can't be found when needed.

Come on somebody, make an online Super Store of American Made products.

Introduction and what i make

greetings, I am new to this forum and new to MD as well.
i really enjoy this thread. here is what i make.
They are called Hobo Nickels.
the story goes that in the depression the hobos would carve a buffalo nickel and trade them for what ever they could.
this isnt a buffalo nickel but a Millard Filmore presidential dollar that i reworked.
there is quite a following of Hobo Nickel collectors and even a web site.
http://hobonickels.org/
if you look at the bottom of this page http://hobonickels.org/showcas2.htm
i am there as "threefingerdave" it is a profitable hobby and really fun

Greetings
I use "Gravers" and a small air powered Pnumatic graving system
http://www.airgraver.com/Hand_Engraving_Tools_Overview.htm
I make the Gravers to fit the job.
I also use a Stereo Zoom Microscope and an Engraving Vice ( Ball Vice)
as to how do i go about it? Kind of hard to explain that.
If you look at the Gravers you will see that there are many shapes and i just " cut, Push, Scrape, Remove" The metal to what ever i am wanting to do
Hope this helps
Dave

this is my other hobby..I build custom firearms from nothing but parts.
alot of fabrication and one of a kind ideas. no bashing please...I know everyone is not into firearms, just thought I would share with you.
this is basically what I start with...

Headphones, Babies, and Furniture

I figure I am pretty good at babies and furniture but need work on the headphones.

You have my wheels turning now... At the least I can make it happen for forum members ...hmm

I'd like to see this thread worked into a "store" eventually.

We need all types of items posted here but especially treasure related products. If we can get more of these maybe this thread can become permanent "sticky."

Suggestion: Lots of treasure hunters need ideas for display cases. It can be a real pain getting objects to stay in place on the wall without gluing them to some backing. Many of us don't want to put glue on our dug artifacts.

What can we come up with in regard to display cases? Unique ideas?

Also needed here are plans for digging tools and anything else treasure related.
