Vortex review from a normal person.

And now that we have heard from most of the Vortex haters group.

Yes, his testing was very simple and I believe it was aimed at the beginner. What I got out of it was that the guy seems to truly like the Vortex. It didn't show anything my 20 year old DFX can't do, but, he was trying, and anyone who has done any videos knows it takes a lot of work.
He is a wannabe youtube influencer. He has only posted like 5-6 MD videos and one of the was an opening of some other product. I don't do MD videos. Why? They are hard to do properly and they take up time. Plus you really have to build up a pretty large following on youtube to make it pay off in a significant way.

I prefer to help educate beginners by factual posts on this forum. On a lot of my post I am keeping in mind the beginner. There are many very experienced and generous members on this forum. This is where the beginning detectorists can learn a lot if they pay attention. This is exactly how I learned more about the art and science of metal detecting. Plus following rattleheads, Merrills, and the guy Wizards of Wisconsin metal detecting videos on youtube. I attribute watching their videos and other CTX3030 members here on my fast learning curve with my new CTX3030. That also transferred into a faster learning curve on my XP Deus 2. There is a point in your learning about metal detecting that it finally all clicks together. Don't be too surprised if it is a matter of a year or more and not months. There are some beginners that learn fast and put in the hours to learn in a matter of months. It can be done especially if you are in a location where finding good targets is more the norm than the exception.

On the flip side youtubers like ed the beach hunter with his apparently planted gold jewelry finds has hurt many beginners. They see his videos and think it is easy peazy and they buy a detector and head to the beach. After 2 or 3 hunts finding nothing or mostly junk they give up.

Advice to newbies: Ask members on this forum what are the best youtube learning videos for your type of metal detecting sites.

That Ed guy has some wacko vids for sure. There is a So.Cal Tuber here who once offered me $ to plant a nice ring i had found so he could make a video for his channel. We talked about his channel , etc. He honestly didn't care about his subs at all as long as they donated cash. No , I did not accept his offer.

HI Guys, I am new to this group and what's worse!!! I am from the UK lol lol

But I like C B, YouTube guy, he's not perfect as non-off us are, but I like his no BS approach.

I find there are too many people all egar to brown nose one and other. that's ok to a point, but if truth is hidden because we want to avoid hurty feelings, do we not suffer in the long run but not getting a problem fixed????

surly you need to own up to a problem before you have a hope of fixing it right ???? or wrong

Looks like Stanley is on a mission to have 500 posts before 2025, 17 [so far[] in this 1 thread alone.

Not accepting his offer goes without saying. But I do know two guys in South Florida who do find quite a few nice rings each month. I was writing a booklet on the east coast of Florida Treasure Coast 1715 Fleet locations on the beach opposite the wrecks closer to the shore. These two beach hunters talked to me and showed me their accumulated finds of wedding/engagement rings with real ice attached. These two guys were older and did not participate on any MD forums or youtube and made me promise not to reveal their location or names. Ask Felix and others in the Miami area, great fresh drops by rich female tourists who want to show off their bling, slap on the tanning lotion with their hands and fingers, distrust the hotel help so wear their rings everywhere. Greased up fingers and salt water make for some nice hunting in the right areas.

Welcome to the forum from Virginia (or as you British say, "the colonies")!

You'll find this to be a friendly and informative forum, as long as you don't mention anything about dowsing rods or say anything nice about the Vortex! :p
