Vortex review from a normal person.

This is just a normal review. No drama. A normal person testing it for normal metal detecting.

Nothing personal toward that guy, but that was one of the worst reviews and tests that I've ever seen.

The same plane tests he did were kindergarten level difficulty. Similarly, his speed test was kindergarten level speed.

He says the Vortex hits the coin on some of the tests, but that's only because he's doing the short wiggle centered right over the coin. When he swings like how we actually swing, the Vortex misses the coin. That's a fail.

He mentions how stable the ID is, but I guess he's not aware that the Vortex bundles IDs into one ID. For example, if the target is truly ID'ing at 46,47, and 48, the Vortex will only show one of those ID's, giving the illusion of TID stability.

I was waiting for you to say all that so I wouldn't have to. I'll only add that from what I can tell, the only time the vortex hits a solid number that doesn't jump is when the coil is an inch or two above the target.. The vortex does appear to be an average single frequency machine though.

Still trying to understand why folks are lining up to defend the vortex when it was released with so many serious flaws and issues?

At this point the vortex performs almost on a level with the AT Pro but it is still years behind other manufacturer’s SMF offerings.

This IS 2024 so I guess it's still acceptable to call someone a hater for pointing out facts. Maybe 2025 will see more people pull their big boy pants up and deal with the fact that people can not like the things they overhype. I don't hate the vortex but someone doing another video talking about how great it is when not showing the screen AGAIN opens it up for debate. Which by the way is why it was posted. We certainly know it wasn't posted to show anything groundbreaking. I know this because I watched it. I still think Stan works for Garrett and believes that negative press is better than no press at all and at this point is the only hope the Vortex has.

Truth is, the Vortex will become good or bad on its own merits, not the opinions of the haters. But it does make for entertaining read.

Too bad he didn't take FULL swings to identify the target. Instead he opted for the two inch swing over what he knew was there. That is not a test. THAT is BS. If you want to call that something special ok then. But I want to see all of you with a vortex swing 2" sweeps all day long. That should be helpful in an all day hunt. LOL
