Vortex review from a normal person.

Normally I stay out of pissing matches but....This whole thread is a waste of space. I'm going credit this to the syndrome "NDE" Not detecting enough. It's horrible, I've been infected. Let's all get out and swing, quit bitching about a TY video or equivalent BS about this equipment or that.

Your blood pressure will benefit. Everyone go out and metal detect tomorrow and post your finds.

Keep swinging.

This just started with posting a short video about a metal detector. It quickly erupted into a deluge of emotional outburst.
That’s why some experienced people no longer come here.
Any attempt at conversation gets disrupted with pointless challenges. Any attempt to move forward, it increases. A lot of cute little mocking quirks.
You can see it right on this thread.
You can watch it build. Some make statements, here come the deluge.
Other than mocking the video or the guy that made the video, or the detector, little to do with metal detection.
If that’s what you want, then that’s what you got.
If not, then maintenance is required.
Have fun.

Actually you are the emotional one. Accusing people of hating on you tubers. Posting the Red Herring video then accusing others of such. You admit you posted it to see what would happen. You got what you wanted and still complain. I'm starting to think you are actually my Ex wife.
She's Baaaaaaak LOL

Stan, we can chill knowing that a quoting a simple YT post regarding a new BS detector turned into a nothing burger thread. FO to the haters that like to disagree with everyone that doesn't agree with them. Let it go, Terry (CP) and I have.

Good post! It's starting to get out of hand with valued members deleting their accounts because of the "I'm right and your wrong" attitude! That type of division is sad and just isn't on this sight.

Your seriously playing the victim card after intentionally starting this whole mess? 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah hoping to get out for the first time in months this weekend. Good luck if you get out there!

Know-it-alls getting their panties in a twist, because someone on the internet has the audacity to disagree with them, frequently leave internet forums.

It’s difficult to imagine an adult male being that fragile.

No reason to buy it, lots of options.

After the update, the only issue I know is that the ID in MF changes in too big of increments. If exact ID is important, you shouldn’t buy. As a park digger, a general ID is good enough for me.
Stan are you actually going to set there with a straight face and tell us all that missing TIDs is not a issue or target IDs jumping all over the place, is not an issue, brother let me tell you something you need to up your standards a few bars higher, personally for me those two things are a big issue, especially detecting in parks.

A detector for detecting in Parks is where you would want really stable IDs, at least in my mind I would want to use a detector that had accurate IDs.

I have not seen one video yet where the TIDs were being showed that those TIDs were not jumping all over the place, if you can live with them being that way that's great but for me personally that's not so great at all, and for me personally the Vortex issues have been a huge let down, simply because I actually wanted a Vortex, but I expected a better Vortex than what has been presented to all of us.

Garrett would have been better off with just having the three tiered bars and absolutely no Target IDs at all in my opinion, for someone that relies on TIDs to determine whether they dig or do not dig those Jumping TIDs present a huge problem, yes I could have went ahead and followed through with my purchase because I dig by Tones almost 99.9% of the time, but I do still occasionally look at the TIDs when I am unsure of what the tones are actually telling me those unstable TIDs would have driven me nuts

I do hope that with a few more updates Garrett gets things squared away, but I will be honest with you I am not so sure they will and I was unwilling to risk my money just to end up with another detector that would become a wall hanger shortly after getting a Vortex in my hands, maybe 6 months to a year down the road the Vortex will get corrected to where I will want to purchase one again.

Does everyone dig the same things using the same methods. I have a Deus 1 lite. Going to have a problem if I have to see an ID.
You can tell what you’re digging but if you need a good ID, don’t buy.
For my own personal requirements, I consider it a good candidate.
I don’t recommend anyone buy it till it’s fixed.
Once it’s fixed, if you want highly reactive audio with no embellishment and great nuance, might consider.

The only problem is this video was nothing special. Didn't really show anything and really was not informative in the least. More of the same.
I think it depends on what you expect out of a detecting video. Myself, I got a bit out of it. I don't listen to the commentator but watch the VDI, listen to the tone, watch the swing, and see the results. I got just as much as I get watching a video swinging over coins on a box. I have never hunted coins on a box, but I get the feeling I wouldn't be finding many.

I know what you mean Stan. I use the Deus 1 myself, and use the tones, for the most part, to decide whether to recover a target or not. I think the Deus has one of the best, if not the best, audio tones. Very informative once you learn the language.

I think we're finally seeing detector manufacturers working more on good VDI probably because they have run out of everything else to tweak LOL. All I can say is it is about time.

I would have watched the VDI but it wasn't shown other than in the house and at a predictable hight above a coin. I heard the tone as the target was zeroed in on, NOT showing if the tone would have alerted one enough to slow down for the famous 2" swing. If you got a a lot from that then more power to you. I get that you have never hunted coins on a box but in the same sense All coins I hunt are not 2: from the coil. My first bounty hunter could do that but I damn sure wouldn't tout it as some new technology. We can talk all day of the promise the detector HAS. And with updates it very well may be a good machine. In it's current form the machine is not even close. So far all I have gotten is that it's a great beep and dig machine for $600. In 2024 that isn't impressive
