Harbor Freight Pinpointer Mod

I glued the motor i had next to the piezo speaker.

My switch is going out after 3 - 4 months of light use, will change that out next. Used it today in mid 40's ok, minus the switch.

Yep, I used the 100 ohm thermistor. Bought a 10 pack on ebay for around 10 bucks shipped. I will definitely add them to all future Centech pinpointers. I think that in the end we can only expect mediocrity from this unit no matter what mods we make. I'm not bashing, just saying you will have limitations at this price range! If you want some thing that you can turn on and go in nearly every condition every time, there are some better options(obviously, at a premium price).
