Still on the topic of Scapolite samples......
KT now has added to the Royal Fluorescent Mineral Collection two more examples of scapolite, another one from Badakhshan, Afghanistan and one from Sterling Hill Mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex Co., New Jersey!
The first 3 pictures are of small clear crystal sections of scapolite from Afghanistan. The first pic is natural light, the second is in SWUV 254nm, and the third is in LWUV 365nm. The longest of these crystal sections is 5/8ths of an inch.
The last two pictures are of a scapolite specimen from New Jersey. The first picture is natural light and the second is SWUV 254nm. No response to LW. This specimen is a small hand sized piece.
