My Deus 2 feedback and commentary, comparison videos, videos, pics

Awesome TNSharpshooter! If that person that reached out to you wants to send another I've got the cash burning a hole in my pocket. I want to go run the D2 on the Rye Patch placer gold site in NV. See how it does compared to the Equinox and a gold monster.

Doubt that will happen.

I was hoping they had changed the scale so that iron would not report like silver halves and dollars. That was one of my biggest problems I had with the original Deus.

Okay.
My Deus 2 shows latest software installed.
If you look in User’s manual you’ll notice 12 factory programs.
But there are indeed 2 more programs installed on Deus 2.
Program 13. Beach P and program 14. Fast 40.
Beach P is multi freq program.
Fast 40 is single freq program.
Here pics of each in Deus 2 remote window.
Notice the other program numbers are in center of window.
Fast 40 shows 7. Which correlates with mono program.
Beach P shows 12 which correlates to beach sensitive.
I don’t know why these are not depicted in manual.

Edited —- the 2 programs above in slots 13 and 14. Evidently these are not deemed factory preset programs. With programs displayed in screen, If one goes selects OPTION then selects PROGRAM with either of these programs displayed one can scroll down and see DELETE choice. I did just that. I deleted both programs in slots 13 and 14. You CANNOT do this with programs in slots 1-12. User doesn’t get DELETE choice if they go OPTION - PROGRAM and scroll down. WS6 module checked later and used as slave (remote not turned on) programs talked about in this post above (slots 13 and 14) are gone.
.

Btw, if you delete the 2 programs above and update or rewrite latest version the 2 programs above are NOT reloaded back into the unit in the corresponding slot numbers.

At remote turn on version software is displayed and serial #.
Also another number quickly flashes in next to a temporary coil looking icon. This number matches number on sticker on bottom of remote. Sticker is in area where remote slides unto rod stem.

Hot keys or shortcut keys.
Refer to page 11 of User’s manual.
Notice long press of either plus or minus keys does same thing - Audio menu.
This would seem allows for an additional access item should Xp take one of the options above away and change one of the keys to access different menu option.

Pic of bottom of remote.
With 2 pics next to screw with corresponding numbers 1 and 2.
1 has umbrella next to
2 shows person with scuba gear.
See users manual for correct screw useage.
See page 40 of User Manual for correct usage of the 2 screws supplied.

Folks receiving units may want to verify if unit has latest software installed. There could be updates while your unit is being processed and or transported.

Pic of back of remote, back of WS6 headphone module and not top of coil. Note numbers match on all components.

Pic looking from above arm cuff. The small screw when removed will allow small cuff adjustments.

In post #1 above.
Deus coin ID video.
If you’ll notice when I changed programs and trying to sweep coin, a delay in Deus 2 reporting tonally. This delay likely caused by auto frequency scan selected.
See page of the 30 Deus 2 manual.
I’ll revisit this soon with another video and demonstrate.

Deus 2 User’s manual link posted in post #1 of this thread.

Dave thanks for the videos. I noticed there were no wheats or memorials in yours or the other video on coin tests. Could you please include in the next. Thanks Mark

Okay,
To turn on WS6 if wanting to use as master just mash minus button..
To turn off WS6 module user must have program detect screen displayed when holding plus and minus buttons.

See page 33 of user’s manual. The manual doesn’t say what I did above for turning off. Just reflects holding plus and minus keys. Manual does show correct type of screen displayed though for turn off to happen using plus and minus keys.

The Wait

I'm surprised they sent out so many free units to stir up demand when the demand far exceeds what will be even supplied the next 6 months already. Will create a lot of frustration on the wait for sure.

I went and ordered the Deus II also. I prepaid for mine, there were some credit card issues, so I called my cc people and told to let the order go through. Going in, I knew it was gonna take a while, so I just resolved myself to not be concerned and it will get here when it gets here. And knowing it might be a long time. In the meantime, I have the NOX 800 with a 15" Coiltek coil, and an E-trac, so I can wait, no problem. Yesterday, Detector Electronica said, they have some on the way, shipped already, on an airplane, (not a boat) that it takes a while to get to their location.
Oh, and I agree too, tnsharpshooter is lucky, but he makes his own luck. I'm looking forward to what he has to say about his machine. I sold my Deus 1 a long time ago, I thought it was made for European coins, not our coins here in America.
