I found a almost destroyed 1800s mile marker. This marker was for the traveler. So they knew the distance to Baltimore. This road was started being built in 1808 and was a private toll road for about a 100 years. The idiot road worker with the road side mower hit it and knocked it over years ago. In the resent months it must have been hit again with something that rolled it over the bank down on the road side. It was clear to me that no one new what it was or didn’t care. So I saved a piece of history. It’s very hard to read. So I made a facsimile of what I think it looked like, when it was new. My plan is to see if the historical society would want it. I made two facsimiles of it I’m going to keep one and give the other with the marker.
