It’s Getting Dangerous Out There! GLOCK 17!!!

Might as well correct the word "through" in your post as well , SM. The word you want "Throw" or the past tense is "Threw". I will say that spell check has been frustrating for me lately. Putting in words I have no intention of using , many with different meanings. Don't realize until you post or print something then ya gotta fix it. Ugh

Yeah, I missed the aftermarket frame. Awesome grip on that by the way. My officer friend signaled out this picture where he pointed out to me where the serial # was removed.
On a factory Glock barrel, the serial is on the right side of barrel, not the top. I can't tell from the pic but maybe it was removed from that - it would be on that side in your first pic. If there's lands/groove rifling in the barrel its aftermarket - polygonal rifling would be Glock. Anyway - you could just buy a new frame since you're in FL, and even replace whatever internals and get it going just fine IMO. IF you ever get it back! Good luck :) Again, cool find.

Yep , Ground Sweeper , I blew the pick up , saw some numbers !:lookclose:
I just realized the serial should also be on the slide right under the ejection port too....seems oddly smooth there and the barrel? I'm on a CrapBook, I mean Chromebook, so hard to be sure. I should get on my phone ;) lol. Anyway. Exciting find!

Went out with NuBlu today for a 4-hour pre-sunrise hunt. Even though I got some greenies throughout the hunt, they were sporadic and mainly light dimes. I got the silver ring in the 1st part of the hunt. As I was returning just past the halfway point in deeper water, I saw a couple of dark objects in the water. I wave my coil over them and 1 was a stick, but the other object definitely made a loud noise. As I picked it up with my scoop and looked    . At first, I thought that maybe it was a toy, but then I saw “Glock” and knew it was the real deal :gunbandanna:– polymer frame with metal upper. There were people around, so I stealthily put it in my pouch and continued hunting. I was in total shock for about an hour. After some time, the weight on my pouch was getting annoying so I stopped and put it in my water bladder backpack. The unmarked silver pendant came at some point later. (Tested “925” at home).

At home, I spoke with one of my law enforcement friends and took various pictures of the gun and sent them to him. He noted that the serial #’s had been removed, and as you can tell in the picture, the trigger was burned. I have given the gun a freshwater bath. Since the gun was probably involved in a crime, I have called Miami Beach Police and reported it. Officers took less than an hour from my call to pick up the gun. I got a case card and it is now “Found Property”. I am hoping I can get it back as it is a nicer weapon than my S&W 9mm. Unfortunately, I did not notice that I had inadvertently taken a crematory tag. That’ll go back out there the next time I go there to detect. I have now gone 15 hunts without gold, and it is my longest slump ever. But I can now check finding a firearm off my list!
Nice find doesn’t surprise me those beaches you hunt and the neighbor hood in general have gotten pretty violent ,seen my share of things, and bad behavior go down after hours.now I only hunt during the day and with a partner
