I think many do the right thing and return rings and stuff that can be identified. I do I ask for a thank you letter in return. I don't think this has been a issue here or anywhere's else. There will always be a people that find some items be it detecting or walking down the road that won't return items that are clearly marked. That's just human nature. I think the issue is when you find a item and post it or show it to another person and they run to tell someone you found there ring, it becomes an issue. I am pretty sure no one walks down the beach after finding a ring asking if its anyone lost it! How in the world does one pair a lost ring (that looks like the one they lost) sold by the 100's or 1000's with being there's? Just makes no sence at all.
We are all out there to find things it makes no sence to have $25,000.00 Dollars worth of hunting stuff just to give back all the stuff you find. Everybody need to set an ethical standard when we start this hobby, that you are comfortable with, I did. If it dosen't fit everybody else's standard its just too bad.
