I'm still trying to get someone to post the trash they dug while using a ctx! It's harder than getting into area 51! Can one of you average guys post your trash while using a ctx? Gary is a seasoned pro.I'm talking your short timer here.I try to post my trash dug so newbies see it isn't all riches. In fact it is very few riches and very hard work. Some days are downright frustrating.Let's see the junk on new machines first outings please! Most of us like seeing the junk.I'm more proud of the litter i've disposed of than most i guess?

Sounds like Aquaman is a little disappointed hes not digging more trash. Can someone please take more bobby pins and paper clips to his beach lol. The trash level tends to be low on my beaches.... then you go out the next day and you are knee deep in !!!!. I think those pull tabs and bottle caps are breading.

At least 200+ targets there...in a 3.5 hour hunt (210 minutes)? That's 1 target per minute. Are your beaches really that trash filled? I can hunt Waikiki for 4 hours and maybe have 30-40 targets in my finds bag by the end of my hunt and that's on a good night...and "with" my DF so I'm not discriminating much:lol:

This is almost commical:laughing:

Yes some beaches are that trash filled especially in the DRY sand on a beach picnic area. This photo was one that was not used in an article in this months Western & Eastern Treasures magazine which tells the story of my finds from hunting on the very same trashy dry sand. This area of the beach is not for the feint hearted seeing crowds of people dropping all manner of trash on a daily basis. Are you hunting in the dry sand in a busy beach picnic area in Waikiki ? I get many negative comments about my gold finds which I take as a compliment making finds deemed unbelievable, even from my fellow "friendly" forum members. To get my trash finds questioned well that really is comical, I am laughing too!
Cheers Gary

Aquaman, Your way off base with that comment and you should really check your facts first. There's at least 300+ targets there. Try to get it right the next time.;)

Well looky here.. More gold from our beaches I never seem to find . Congrats Gary.

You just need to improve your Gold finding skills as fast as you've improved your copper, brass and aluminum finding skills. ;)

lol.. I forgot I have to get out and detect to find the gold. lol But cant if Gary keeps finding it all :p

300+ That's definitely a Japanese beach. Must be a typo in the location "Sunny South Fukuoka" ;)

Man Gary, you are sure a true hunter that knows his stuff! You sure havent had any learing curve on that new machine! Proof in the pudding,,,I will say when I bought my excal, I read your book on the machine and water hunting and it helped me a ton! :D

Some beaches i hunt i don't turn my machine on until i get to the waters edge, trash EVERYWHERE, like 8 signals per swing....In the water it's a bit cleaner, but i still dig a ton of trash anyway...

I have gone to the beach down here and you have to move the trash to get to the sand.

Gary

Thanks for showing the pains of you labor along with your awesome finds. At least I know I need to work harder and dig more to find the gold (I have only found silver on the beach).

Gary,

Nice gold.

Are you running the CTX pretty wide open ?

Not sure how different the CTX is to the E-Trac in terms of hitting on gold, but I know my E-Trac is not that sensitive to small gold in the Beach program ( that is to say, some smaller gold becomes a choppy signal and some actually discriminated out in that program) and I ususally run it pretty wide open when using it on the beach.

Shoot, with all that trash around, a shovel, sifter and a wheel barrow may be another option !

I have snagged a few smaller gold items in the dry after digging tons of foil and pull tabs with my Gold Bug SE. It's more a mindset than anything else when you do that type of hunting. It's almost like PI hunting in iron where you dig it all..... those targets in that low conductive range, which inlcude pull tabs, foil of all shapes and sizes, bottle caps, nickles, etc. have to be dug if you want to get those types of gold targets pictured. If you only want to dig up the bigger rings, then some type of audio/visual help can be of assistance, but for the smaller gold, earrings, pendants, etc, the junk has to be dug.

And if you are in a picnic area, be prepared. Hopefull that picnic area was in the sand ! Easy diggings at least.

I think what frustrates people here (myself included) is that you seemingly have mastered this machine in less than 3 weeks and consistently post multiple gold finds from "heavily" hunted beaches and then post a random junk pic from a "dry sand" GT hunt:?: The topic of this thread was the CTX 3030 right? Most people I know just don't have $3000 laying around to spend on a metal detector and yet I read how this and that individual are planning on selling their "lesser built" detectors to consolidate enough cash so as to replicate your good fortune. That worries me.

Did Minelab gift you a 3030 as a test pilot out of curiosity? When does the new 3030 book come out?

Until someone else not connected to Minelab or booksales can show me similar success with this new 3030, I'll remain skeptical. I'll be the first one to swallow my pride and admit my skepticism was unfounded until then.

Hey Gary, I would gladly meet up with you for a beach hunt and see how the CTX 3030 works since your only like 20 minutes from me.. I mean If this thing works like you say it does and I see it for my self them I will sell my stuff and get me one!

I would Love to see you pull some gold in person :D Ill make sure the video camera is rolling to.

Mastered the machine? There is nothing masterful about pushing a button to turn a metal detector on, pushing another button and searching in a preset beach mode, it is a very easy metal detector to use right out of the box.
No, this is the land of the "fee" and home of the brave so I bought my metal detector. The topic of the thread was "CTX 3030 18K & 14K" I was just posting a finds photo with the name of the detector I was using on the friendly metal detecting forum as many other finds posters do. I never told anyone to buy a CTX3030 and I apologize to you as I certainly did not intend to leave Aquaman worried, skeptical or frustrated.
Cheers Gary

:lol:Ok Keep em' coming Gary. I never get tired of seeing gold. Seriously though, when is your CTX 3030 book coming out?
