XP Deus worth it?

The price change was not due to the "bottom falling out". It's a correction in currency exchange rates. The euro is weak and the dollar is strong, therefore a price adjustment was needed. Post some links to all these deus units that you see for sale or trade, because I sure can't find them. I know I know, you've chosen a position and refuse to budge from it. No matter what evidence or facts are placed in front of you.

I'm open minded, and don't get offended,I mean you no disrespect. Cut and paste is you copying my post and putting them in your post. Now,let's get back to the deus. Why the overnight price crash? And why so many trying to sell them,or trade?

I cut and paste so that you get a notification that I responded to your post. I addressed the price crash in my previous post. As far as people trying to sell or trade, I looked back through the classified archives since there aren't any for sale right now. I found 5 going back to December. I don't see that as a lot. Do you? And one of them was someone who had two and was selling one. There are other machines on this site that have far more listings in that timeframe than the deus.

Look in the fs, I can think of 3 in the last few weeks.Seems like you want to be disrespectful? Or maybe a clown?Have at it buddy,I don't hafto look up or post anything, facts are facts.

I think one needs to be careful when trying to analyze say maybe if a detector is any good or not by how many are up for sale. Most times the law of averages apply. Meaning the detector model that seems to be up sale for the most is tied directly to how well the unit sold in the first place. Make sense??

Ok,I'm gonna be straight.Who said pricing dropped here in the state's cause the euro fell?A sponsor that sells them?Lol..I got news, when the euro drops prices on imported merchandise stays the same,in the state's.including and not limited to metal detectors.Trust me I'm sure of that.

Is the Deus worth it? Here's just a few finds from last fall, my first season with the Deus, btw. If you can afford one, it is a very nice detector. But ya know, I couldn't find one mercury dime! :D

No clown or disrespect here. I'm asking for you to show me the facts. You state your "facts" with no supporting evidence. I've been watching the for sale forum for over a month just for that reason. Yes, there were a few for sale, and they just happened to be around the same time. Like any other machine out there, it's not for everyone. Some may not put the time in required to properly learn it, some in sure have other reasons. I do a lot of research on anything I'm considering buying before I actually make a purchase. I watch videos, I ask other owners for their opinions, I read reviews etc. What I don't do is make claims about something I know absolutely nothing about. I would consider this a debate between you and I, and you shouldn't take anything as disrespectful. It does appear to me though, that no matter what anyone says or shows you that is contrary to your opinion, you refuse to budge from your stance. I'm just suggesting you look into a machine and be knowledgable about the product before you tell someone they are wasting their money.

Very nice looking finds.I'm gonna let this one loose,I don't want to debate.I'm sure the dues is a fine machine.I just see nothing special for the price.good luck on your purchase op.

That could be the case, I'm not a currency or import/export expert by any means. Maybe there's a new model in the works. Maybe they hit the number needed to recoup their costs for r&d and lowered the price to move more units. I don't have an inside track with XP, so it's all speculation. What I do know, is that sales havnt been an issue. They have a 5 year warranty, and there have been very minimal complaints or warranty issues with the unit.

The main objective is to get out and have fun. In this instance the op was interested in the Deus. I've owned everything from an Ace 150 to the Deus. There are marked differences as you move up the ladder, but it is up to each individual person as to what they want and can afford. If you can afford the Deus, the lightweight and wireless capabilities are worth a few more bucks, not to mention superb target separation in and out of iron. Honestly, if I sold my finds from this fall the detector would have paid for itself.... just don't tell my wife that (I want to keep this so called junk! Lol). Best of luck to all either way, it's a great hobby....

I have actually seen people, a lot lately, trading their ctx for a deus. And again, the reason for the price change was because of currency exchange rates. I don't understand why on this forum the thread gets started asking about a certain thing and all of the sudden it turns into a "my detector is better than yours" thing. No one detector does it all and many factors come into play when hunting a site such as history, soil conditions, trash, user knowledge, and many other things. The OP asked if thr deus was worth buying. IMO you bet it is! that being said I think the Deus is extremely adaptable to all of those things. It can be set for basically any condition you encounter. That fact plus it being light, wireless, waterproof capable, c having a 5 year warranty, and having a great company actually taking user feedback to improve upon it through simple upgrades makes it one of the most versatile detectors out there. It might cost a grand buy if your out having fun with it and not going home with a sore shoulder and back, it's worth every penny.

I also think it needs to be stated. The Deus because of its light weight and fully adjustable rod for length. It's a good detector for wives, girlfriends, children. Accompanied by an adult a child could use and learn. And something else that doesn't get mentioned is you can use the Deus in training sessions, by letting someone else listen through the headphones, with the person running the deus listening to the external speaker or by being plugged in to the headphone jack. Or vice versa, letting say a child/wife sweep the deus while being wired to headphone jack, while the trainer is listening through the wireless headphones. It is a very versatile machine and can be a total family used detector.

I honestly don't hunt much with headphones on.. I don't think its a major issue.

Not using headphones is A.) annoying to anyone around you and B.) costing you targets.

Save your self some money and get a good mid range detector from
any of the leading brands. Learn your machine's language then spend
your time looking for good sites to hunt. Location is everything in this
hobby not gear.

This is just false info.

I've gone to sites I've hit with an AT Pro, F75SE, and that others have hit with etracs and 3030's. I went with the deus and found TONS of stuff I missed previously.

Have you ever used one so that you can comment from experience? Obvoiusly location is important but the detector will make a HUGE difference too.

Please stop posting in this thread. You're being rude and offensive and offer nothing constructive whatsoever. Great, you don't want to spend more than $500 to "find a merc dime" NOBODY CARES.
You have no experience swinging a deus therefor add nothing of value to the discussion. Move along.

On and it's called a quote tag so the readers know which post is being replied to.
