Pulse Induction MD

SS is fine for Florida beaches in wet sand and water. Will be digging lots of junk in dry sand. But, thats a heavily MD'ed area anyway.

Bottom line - IN MY OPINION, you cannot beat a Brand New, Lifetime Warranty, Tesoro Sand Shark pulse induction unit for $600.00 if you are hunting wet salwater sand and water - in Connecticut or anywhere else. It will pay for itself faster than any other machine in its class or price range.

I hunt Craig's beaches with mine all the time, and it only drives HIM crazy!

If you were hunting my beaches Terry... we would see new video's of your finds instead of your old video finds

Terry is entitled to "HIS OPINION", but bear in mind that not all share it; especially as it relates to the SS performance and the so called "Lifetime Warranty." I suggest doing a thorough search before taking the above mentioned advice. Aside from Terry's typical plug, others on here have given sage advice.

Its ok... let him plug whatever he pleases...

I gave the new member who posted this thread sound advice based on the type of hunting he was going to do and that is what we are here for... I don't give blind advice based on any one brand ;)

A SS can be a good first salt water machine if you dont have the money for one of the more expensive VLFs or cant pick up a good used one for about the same price. BUT.... i personally feel they are a better clean up machine unless you are a YOUNG man with OCD toward digging. They are very site specific where as a good used VLF you never have to wonder am i going to be able to hunt this beach. Not much fun after driving 2 hours to the beach. Get yourself a good scoop.... with a magnet you will need those too.

Thanks

Thanks you all for the replies. I decided to go with a Sovereign XS for the price, and the discrimination.

These forums really are great for deciding which detectors are the best for what place... you can look up thousands of threads and get reviews by real people :).

Damm my wife was right again. I am OCD toward digging. That must be why I i
like my SS so much. I think here in SWF any PI would be good.

where I live we have nowhere near the amount of iron where you are but we all have the same junk that a PI loves and that is bobby pins, crab trap pieces, and basically a bunch of junk you will pass over with a multi=freq machine,,,I tried a PI (SS), but got rid of it cause I spent to much time digging junk,,,you will dig enough junk with a multi=freq and can eliminate a bunch of it,,,,besides those added junk targets the PI gets are also hard ones to scoop up in current and waves,,,,if you go with a PI,,,the SS has a lifetime warranty,,GL HH

I don't want to hurt your feelings any more buddy. I figure I have done enough damage to your ego without rubbing salt in the wounds.

Seeing how we are being open here... I was looking for you when I hunted near your place on Silver Beach... you sure missed a lot of silver and gold rings that I recovered with my GT

You are probably going to want to get the XS2pro/XS2apro, don't think the older XS had waterproof coils. If you find a Sovereign Elite for a low price, it was the new model after the XS, before the GT.

Keep in mind I've heard that Minelab stopped repairing some older machines, not sure which ones, something to think about... make sure you get a good one if you go that route.

That was the smartest move you made. Hope the XS treats you well.

You need a lifetime warranty here with a PI. because thats how long it will take to get through all this iron we have. I recommend everyone where i live other than my friends buy a PI. We need someone to move all this iron so our other machines don't miss any gold under it. We need someone with a small PI coil and lots of spare time. Any volunteers?

I saw some videos of that beach. Maybe Terry posted them, I don't remember. All the guys were digging iron or complaining. If it is the beach where he lives then it is the same. It is on Youtube. There were old concrete and rebar sticking out. One guy called it iron beach on the video. I am guessing it is the same place, where Terry lives. His address is on the net. He is famous. Look it up. Then everyone go hunt there with your Sand Sharks.

Show a little mercy.. at least you could recommend the Viper

Yeah a viper, sandshark and some dowsing rods. Viper is number one on the list. Dowsing rods you have to hit the bottlecap reject every time you reground balance. Just fill your holes:lol:

I was warned about all the IRON and how much time I would be wasting digging trash. I must say they are right to a point. However I won't part with my PI. It is fantastic in the water and I want every signal I can get. The wet sand is even good with the PI. Do I find a lot of iron yes i certainly do but it doesn't ruin my fun. You learn where to use the machine and not to. A PI is not for everyone I consider myself very patient. Some one with little patience may want to avoid a PI.
