What would you do with these pennies ?

I would take my time going through them , no rush to get it done so they can be gone through a little at a time. Pick out anything old , errors , etc. then when finished take the rest to a coinstar or similar machine.

That's so cool! I would separate the copper and the wheat, and hoard them both. Zinc goes back to the bank. My copper hoard is currently 20,000+ pennies and it looks like you have more than I have in that jar. I would love going through that. Good for you man. :D

Sort coppers from zincs and wheats from the coppers. Roll up all the copper ones and sell them by the $100 face value on eBay. Roll zincs and take to bank (unless your bank has a coin machine, then no need.) Keep wheats. That's what I would do anyways.
If you are a speculator, separate out all the copper ones and hold onto them. Last I checked a couple years back they had 2.5 cents in copper value but since pennies are still being made, even tho they are not all copper, you cannot yet recycle them. If the US Mint ever stops minting penny coinage you could take the copper ones to any recycler and get about 2.5 face value for them, otherwise, save the wheaties, roll the rest and take to a bank and deposit in your account. Heck, you might even have some Indian heads in there! ;):D
