Our house in England has already been built 100 years ago. A few days ago I set up my detector and to test if everything was okay, it occurred to me to run it a little over the floor of our bedroom on the second floor. Among all the iron signs from the nails in the old wood under the vinyl floor, this stable sign stood out. Since it is impossible to recover I Will try yo forget about It. Has a similar case happened to some of you?

Cut hole. Cover with small rug. 😁
Chain saw, retrieve, replace plug. Buy a new castle. You know it's a hidden cache of ancient silver, keep us posted.

Dear colleagues, my wife was already worried when I told her about this. Women don't find this type of jokes funny. A silver coin is not worth destroying the laminate floor. Now, if it were a pot full of gold coins, the story would be different.🤣👍🏻

Iggyks has the best idea, rugs make rooms look bigger. And so does a bucket of silver. Kidding around, but then again, old houses definitely have the possibility of treasures. Especially in England. What's the VDI? Is it screaming at you? Kidding again.

Side note, my house was built in 1924. I gutted the place down to the studs and I found an envelope with a $1 $5 and $10 bills in between the studs. I took a picture of it but lost it on a hard drive failure. Never know.

Probably a washer used as a shim. Good luck. Mark

Easy solution:

The wife said she doesn't want the floor damaged. So, since it's a bedroom on the second floor, then go into the room below and bust through the ceiling. If she freaks out, just say, "You never said anything about ceiling damage!".

Women see things in black and white. We see things in silver and gold. Your possibilities are endless, if i was a married man, I would leave it alone. If your want to stay married leave it alone. Sounds like you have a reasonably sane wife, so leave it alone. I'm not married, tear that b^tch up.

Oh come on now Mark. We all know there is no such thing

Rammjager,

Ok, forget about busting through the ceiling. Get a portable X-Ray machine. They start at around $40,000
What??!! -should I buy a $40.000 X - Ray machine to recover a £10 silver coin ? That would make a wonderful deal 😭🤤

These have gotten really inexpensive.

The camera can be pushed through a 3/8" hole in the ceiling below. it has 16' of cable. how close is the nearest light fixture to the target? Good Luck DR
Thank you.Buy the endoscope and then buy a robot to recover it 🙁🤤

Actually weren't you meaning to install a ceiling light in the first floor right around that spot?
