Strange Iron Object?

I found these items in a plowed field where there used to be a business, home, and/or farm many years ago. The item on the right is obviously a door handle, probably from a barn. Can anybody help with an ID for the other item?

I know its driving my OCD crazy. Its not symmetrical so I don't know whats missing from where.
