Stavr Scoop Questions

BP... I put up a sticky for members to check out the different scoops... they then can talk about them here in the beach section all they want... they can also talk about them in the stick if they so choose..

Agreed Craig! That is the purpose to let people know what is available . They can then ask manuf specific questions ..
Since members are adding their two cents , then I will also add mine from this point on and if one certain member has a problem with it, then he can hit the delete or ignore button as he suggested to me :)

Thanks to most of you for the helpful information; I've decided to go with the V2.2 and hope to get one on the way soon. I've learned a few other things as well about the different handles and what to treat them with and attachment. I've also communicated with some really nice and helpful people during the short course of this thread and I thank you.

I have also learned that scoop discussions ruffle some feathers and cause some discord around here. I thought I was asking specific questions about a specific brand and models of scoop rather than another broad, generalized opinion on who makes the best scoops.

Did I post in the wrong forum? Did I word something wrong? Am I too new and inexperienced to know what is best for me? Was it something I said? Did I not put the right emph-ass-iss on the right silla-ba-lol? Just curious. Maybe it's the subject matter, hmm?

To no one in particular, I am not anti-stealth scoop nor anti-American on products by considering a foreign made scoop. I reiterate that it's a well built product with a good company; just not my proverbial cup of tea as I found out after spending my hard earned dollars on and using last summer. It's probably my loss. I'm also not pro Stavr nor am I anti-Stavr, just what I am interested in for my next scoop this time around. The same can be said of every manufacture in the sticky at the top of this forum for my part.

Thanks again for the helpful tips, advice and wisdom. I've gotten what I asked for and then some.

Very nicely said. It's too bad we have one here that sees the name Stavr and he goes insane. I just received the 2.22 and so far I do like how it has preformed. I am NOT brand loyal, I have several scoops and the Stavr has moved up to the front of the line because of ease of use. Enjoy the new scoop, it will be less tiring than what you were using before.

I tried a fiberglass handle for the first time and so far very pleased with. I noticed you get into clay also, one nice thing about the model scoop you ordered is the angle the bucket will be when it's in the ground. The back-plate will have an angle that you can push on it with your foot while pulling back on the handle and scoop comes out twice as easy. GREAT feature of that model, not many scoops can make that claim.

Sorry it took so long for your question to be answered and why I recommend Stavr's website

Thanks Max

I was following this thread since I am looking for a good scoop for the lakes as well. Page 5 made this theard sooooo much better.
in your case, if you choose Stavr scoop make a choice between the model M-10 or Krepish

Feedback that I received today

I received this email from Spain this morning. It is nice to see happy customers.

Hi Chuck

I got the scoop (720i) wednesday and took it out this morning.

It works great, i have a stavscoop krepish model.

the 720i cuts through the sand much easier and does not drop sand off the tip like my other one.

The only suggestion i would make is to take the small holes slightly higher on the back face upto the brace bar.

Great scoop, look forward to finding lots of gold with it.

cheers

This is my answer to this buyer/user:

I am glad to hear you are happy XXXXX. I wish I was in Spain detecting :(

I am a little surprised that you want the holes higher. It seems to me that if you have a small item falling through, you would go after it a second time and be a little gentle with it the second time round.

Small holes cost $$$$ and make the scoop heavier.

It is always a battle between cost, weight, strength etc.

Thanks for your input.

Chuck

CanSlaw.
I have already answered this question in another topic:
Yes, I can take but not directly, but through an intermediary, my friend.
1)therefore payment through PayPal will be $ 20 more ... fee
2)Ebay auction also takes a commission for their services ....
3)every whim for your money ... :)

ps: is easier and cheaper to buy directly from me using for usa 3 days western union ....

Does that mean you can now take PayPal for payment going through ebay?

All looks good for easier transactions. Ebay would still be cheaper for me than 50 dollars transfer fees from a bank here in Japan.

So..... am i reading this correctly..... buy now $220 plus $25 shipping.... then are you saying another $20 for PayPal? Thats getting pricy.

Surf .... one question, why do you have such a small foot pad on those scoops? (what can i say i couldnt resist)

North to Virginia,
I'm goin' North, the rush is on.
North to Virgina,
I'm goin' North, the rush is on.

Max turned to Wayne with his gold in his hand,
Said: "Wayne you're a-lookin'at a lonely, lonely man.
"I'd trade all the gold that's buried in this sand,
"For one small band of gold to place on my sweet little digger's hand.

Where the waves are winding,
Big rings they're finding.

all taken into account in the auction, you pay only what that tells you to pay the auction.

paypal payment only includes + $ 20

Stavr

Need a US supplier that will take a check ,with no extra charges, on your site that scoop is 155.00,buy it now 220.00 , with extra charge's, they are not made of titanium, Dropped PayPal, and since EBay use's them mostly for payment, don't shop on eBay anymore, at 220.00 your scoop's are more expensive than Sunspot's, I know your on the other side of the world, but come down to earth, not cutting your scoop's down, but no extra charge's and payment option's need fixing in the USA Dew Mod,ed the foot pad's,waiting for Chuck to make a 820i,or I might try a Stavr if these issue's get strait.

$ 155 scoop is in Ukraine.
+ $ 25 shipping worldwide.
+ services for the transfer of money (for the U.S. WU 3 days = $ 6)
(For Europe on a card with iban = 2 euro

Stavr

Never will use western union, my CHECKS are good, there is a concern the 8 wide stealth scoop's have to small of a foot pad for a large foot,i mod,ed them, might have to make them shorter, cut and grind, still need to test,3/16 aluminum 9 11/16x 6 1/4 ,Chuck does not make a 8 wide scoop in the new style were the foot pad is actually in the back plate, just 7 wide, I prefer a wider scoop 8 wide , hunting mostly with larger coil's, also I like the round holes not the hex style ,Stavr what do you have in 8 wide ,12 long,14 gauge,1/2 inch hole heavy duty water, wet, surf, scoop's :?: Also Shipment UPS AIR Possible ?

Thanks i think i have it.... $186 total if bought from you and shipped from outside the US. If i use Ebay its bought from you and shipped outside the US, but its $245. I guess if i buy its worth the hassle NOT to get it on Ebay.
