After contracting long covid back in 2021 I was completely unable to detect for over 2 years. It seriously kicked my butt, put me on disability, and I lost my job. I had just bought my new Nox 800 only a couple months prior, and there it sat, collecting dust. Fast forward 2.5 years and I’m back in the workforce and detecting at least 6 days a week in the evenings. Life is good! I’ve been mainly hunting a nearby school and just started digging in my front lawn, to the dismay of my husband. I’ve found a total of 8 keys in my yard! I don’t understand how you lose that many keys. What’s the most keys you’ve found on one house site? Also found a nice silver plated spoon & vintage brass hose nozzle.

Hi....glad you're feeling better these days!! I was thinking the same thing (about lost keys) this past Spring when I was walking around my buddy's 1890 house. As you might be able to see in the little display I made for him, there are two key rings, each with 9 or 10 keys. And I was thinking, how the heck do you deal with that many locks that have missing keys?? Ha, ha!! BTW...love the fancy spoon. :D

I have a coffee can full of lost keys that I have found over the years. Although a lot were found in abandoned houses. DR

Thanks Boones! Yes, I just imagine how upset someone probably was when they lost those keys. They probably ran all over looking for them, possibly spewing a slew of special phrases. 😆
I was pretty psyched about the spoon. I’ve found lots of spoons, but never a nice one. Love your display that you made!

Good going on the finds Katie. Sorry to hear about your bout with covid, but sure glad you beat it and are back at it now. I have found a lot of modern type keys, but haven't found one lousy old skeleton key. Well done.

I kinda like finding keys. I've found a jar full over the years. On an old, former, air force base, I found a bunch of government "U.S. Gov’t Do Not Duplicate" keys I thought was cool. I should pull them all out and take a group pick - but here's one ring I found there.

Also love finding those hose nozzles too! Nice one.

I think maybe sometimes a key became obsolete to someone and they just tossed it in the grass. I also wonder about all the chauffeur's licenses found, did they get thrown out the car window when they expired?

Grats on all the finds! I think that spoon might date to around the 1950's/60's. Glad your feeling better now and are able to detect!
