I'm newer to beach & wet sand hunting than a lot of the members here but have learned a few things over the last year or so.
#1 - don't underestimate the value of a long & no hassle warranty. I don't have a Stealth scoop but now would put a $100 value on just the warranty easily. Welds on my purchased on Amazon scoop have failed three times now in just under 1 year. In hindsight, I should have returned it for a refund during the very short 3 month warranty. I would have been out $20 return shipping then but way ahead in the end.
#2 - The tube mount style for the handle can be a PITA if using a wooden handle. You will have to put in a ton of work into removing the handle when scoop repairs are needed or if you break the handle or just want to replace a handle. The handle gets stuck in there like you wouldn't believe.
#3 - You'll likely end up with more than one scoop. It's so disappointing to have a scoop fail while out there. Keep a backup scoop in the car. I use (and need) a larger 8" scoop with my Dual Field Surf PI but have found that I can easily use a smaller scoop the relatively few times I have taken the Equinox out.
