I love custom-made and unusual jewelry. One of a kind are killer finds. Here is one of my most unusual ring finds. They call it a Blister Pearl stone set in sterling silver. My research says it is from around 1910. Quite ugly as far as rings go in my opinion, but very unique. It was found about 9" deep in Wright Park.

That park definitely has some history to it. Is that your "go to" park?

Mark in Michigan
Yes. Wright park is over 130 years old and located on the site of the Santa Fe Trail and a major crossing & campsite on the Santa Fe Trail. History goes back to 1541 and Coronado that camped there. It was donated to the city by Robert Wright, a city founder, in 1883 and has been a city park since.

Wow, that is unusual. Ugly yet beautiful. I've only found 6 rings so far, 4 junk, 1 silver, and this old 10k gold ring that the local coin/collectable shop guy said is colonial. So l guess only unique because of it's age.

Second, Odd stone is "Fools gold". It was said to bring good luck? But they lost the ring..

I found this ring about 10 years ago at a site that had an old high school on it. The high school was built in 1898 and demolished in 1935 to make way for a brand new high school. The ring is circa 1915 and is a Jensen ring. Jensen was a famous silversmith in Denmark during the mid to late 1800's. The silver is .830 fine which differs from the usual .925 sterling silver. The #11 identifies this ring as "type 11" and the stone is red amber. Blue amber examples of this ring are worth more than red or orange. Normally, I keep the silver rings I find but I was able to track down a Brooklyn, N.Y. jeweler who is a descendant of the original Jensen. I ended up selling it to him for $175.00
