Sandwich Illinois

Still hoping my son and I can make it but my lower back is acting up again. :( Kneeling actually makes it feel better, but standing for a long time or sitting in a car really starts to aggravate it. Last year I broke my tailbone in April (never fully healed) and now this... I'm starting to think I'm jinxed!

Bring a chair and relax! Enjoy the great company!

I know how that goes I was out all last summer for pain and finally went to see doc and had 4 hernia's in my lower abs  They put in screen mesh  This will be my first outing since surgeries because I also had two more stents this winter which I can never get enough of because those give me the heart of a twenty year old!

I'm bouncing off the walls with all the new parts this spring so lets get this going!

Forecast for Saturday is "Nice with plenty of sunshine" with a high of 62. I think we will have a great weather day for a great MDing day!

I will update this thread on Friday evening with the meet-up location so people can GPS to get there and my Cell number.

I am looking forward to meeting y'all and I think we will have a great time!

Please watch this thread on Friday evening for the update info!

Weather Saturday looks pretty good so far. Weather Thursday.....well, it's not so good. That's my prep day making sure everything is tuned up and ready to go. Everything charged up, functional and ready to be there bright and early to rid the place of pulltabs and foil!

I wish I would have saw this thread back when it started! I would have loved to volunteer to go but at this point I don't think I could clear it with my wife. Let everyone know how it goes and I expect to see a lot of mind blowing finds!

Meet-up details

When: TOMORROW! YEA BABY! Saturday April 11

What Time: Arrive at about 9am and leave for the location at 9:30am

Where: In the parking lot just East of McDonalds in Sandwich located at 120, Indian Springs Dr, Sandwich, IL 60548. McDonlads is just East of downtown Sandwich and I am using it as a place for us all to gather prior to the hunts!

Details: Stugpanzer drives a Blue 2005 Ford F250 Crew cab truck with a matching cap. Form up near me so we can meet and greet! I will hand out information, which includes a birds-eye photo of the forest preserve now and in 1939 (Thank you Coin Hunter) which gives us a good idea of where to hunt for Country Club artifacts. Please keep in mind that the park has been a forest preserve since about 1940 so pretty much anywhere in this park may bring some successful hunting!

At about 9:30, we will caravan to the Sannauk Forest Preserve

I do not have the proper permissions for the lake shore as there are many property owners. So that will have to wait for a future date. BUT....my surprise site I eluded to in an earlier post is: I have permission to do the Sandwich Fairgrounds! For those that do not know about the Sandwich Fair, it is the second largest fair in the state with the Illinois State Fair being the only one larger. The Sandwich Fair is also the oldest fair in Illinois having been founded in 1888! I spent about an hour there on Good Friday and found the following: http://metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=211162

My Cell number is 815-351-8865 so please call if you get lost!

I am looking forward to meeting and forging new friendships with the many people that will hopefully be there!

extra MD

I will also bring my extra coin master pro if anyone else wants to give it a try.
I don't have extra digging tools so please bring something if you need it.

WOW! that is a very nice offer! If you don't mind, bring it as I might have someone that may not have a detector but they really want to give it a go!

Just an FYI for those who might be coming in from out of the area....some of the smaller roads in the nearby area have been blocked off due to tornado damage from last night. Local officials have said that most of the roads will be open by later today but portions of Route 72 near I-39 and parts of IL-251 and other smaller roads might be closed for a little longer. From the looks of it the roads should be ok by then but I just wanted to throw that out there just in case.
