First off, fully submersible, the primary reason I bought an X-Terra Pro. Beyond that there are loads of other features in the Pro and Elite. I wish they would have somehow been able to just do a firmware update for the Pro, that could have included the multi frequency. Both the Pro and Elite have some advantages over the Vanquish including ground balance, adjustable tone options, recovery speeds, single frequency mode option, lithium battery, light, vibration, larger display. I wish the X-Terras had the reduced TID scale. This is one thing IMO that I miss when not using the Vanquish.I have a Vanquish 540. What/how would this benefit me if I upgraded?
No. Sorry for any confusion. The X-Terra Pro is an older different model (selectable, single frequency 5, 10, 15 & 8 Khz) that came out not long ago.So this comes in two named models, is the only difference the additional coil on the expedition?
Totally agree, the amount of begginer/mid range detectors on the market now is silly! At least Nokta/XP released SOME software updates. Can't say I've ever heard of a minelab software update...Looks like another fine detector at a good price.
I just wonder why they keep adding/removing a few features and giving it a new name. I thought the whole idea of being able to do USB/Internet upgrades was to do these changes to one basic model. This was my concern when I saw what happened to the Simplex+
XP Metal Detectors has a sister company called HelioFrance that manufactures solar energy and thermal heating systems. Same founder and owner.Minelab is owned and run by a large corporate organization. XP Detectors is still run by the founder. Huge difference in the way they offer new machines.
6 feet? Not sure what you intend to find at that depth, but no hobby metal detector is capable of that depth that I'm aware of...I am interested in a good detector that can go down six feet in Connecticut. Help please.

It would be interesting to know what you are looking for at 6 feet deep? Ground penetrating radar is the only think I know that might go that deep. or if you have lidar maps in your county or parish they might ID unusual depressions in the area you are hunting.I am interested in a good detector that can go down six feet in Connecticut. Help please.
