As most in this Forum know, KT was forced by the local banks to stop CRHing after Covid was over, so His Majesty spends a large amount of his Royal Spare Time hunting the silver half dollar lots on eBay for bargains, managing to win only about 1 in 50 that He bids on!

Anyway, a few days back, whilst engaged in said activity, KT came across what He thought might be worthy to bid on. There was only 1 picture, that of several stacks of Ken half dollars, a statement that some dates were as early as 1965, and the minimum bid was $113.50. But no one had bid on the lot of nearly 95 coins. KT studied that picture closely, and having been a long time edge hunter for silver halves, began to see quite a few silvers in the stacks, plus one stack had a 65 40%Ag on the top. There were about 2 hours left to bid, so KT took the chance and bid the minimum bid. KT won the coins and paid $5.45 for shipping.

The coins arrived today, and KT came out a bid winner! Out of the coins, 46 were just clad, 21 were Bicentennials (which KT gave to the Queen for her enjoyment), and there were 59 40%Ag Kens! :yikes: :D

KT looked up the melt value on those 40%ers and it was 249.39! The total value of the batch was $290.89! KT started :kingdances::kingdances:when He ran the final numbers. One short of 3 rolls to add to the Royal Treasury! KT really believes the seller had inherited these coins and knew they were worth a little more than what they would get from the bank coin machine, but did not take advantage of the internet to look up the value of the silver ones. Likely not a coin collector.

Anyway, KT is taking the Queen and Prince John out to Salt Grass Steakhouse tonight, His Royal Treat! It pays to stay on top of whatever part of the hobby one is involved in! The picture shows the stacks of 40%ers, starting left with the 65 dates, and ending on the right with the 69 dates. Notice the expected distribution, peaking with the years 67 & 68! Enjoy the picture!
