Hey guys. I'm new to this. I'm from Knoxville TN. I have a quick silver that I got as a present. What is a good pinpointer that is not too expensive.

Welcome from South Carolina !!!!

Ultimately it depends on what is not too expensive for you.

A really good pinpointer many people like is the "AT Propointer" but that can cost about $130.00 so people on a tight budget (like me ) sometimes opt for a low cost pinpointer to have something to use NOW and put the AT Propointer on their wish list for later.

One well known low cost pinpointer is made by Cen-Tech for about $18.00

Again, it is what your budget can afford now, if you can afford an AT Propointer now, great, if not then maybe the Cen-Tech pinpointer, even though it doesn't compare in durability, ect. to the AT Propointer, at least at just about $18.00 you're not out a lot of cash even if it only holds up for a year.

Welcome from a old TN guy living in FL. I used to run a big truck down your way. I ran the Smoky MTN in a 4 wheeler and fished al the lakes in that area. I don't know what you consider cheap for a PP but with your detector I'd settle for nothing less than a Garrett Carrot. Welcome from FL.

I agree..

Welcome from North Central MA! AT carrot all the way. Watch the Acc. section down in the "for sale" part. They sometimes come up used for a lot less.

good pin pointers are expensive, that said some can be gotten for under $100.

Welcome to the forum from Western NY

Welcome from Kansas and Antiques Detectors. Good Luck and Happy Hunting!!!

i also have a Quick Silver as one of my detectors. A lot of the pin pointers will cost you more than you paid for your detector. I hunted for years without one (They hadn't been invented yet). Simply pass the dirt in front of your coil. My first pin pointer was a cheap Harbor Freight. I used it for about a year without any problems until I broke down and bought a Garret Pro Pointer (Not the carrot) which I am still using after about four years. There are a number of them used for sale from time to time . If you find one that works good that might be the way to go.

I use a bounty hunter brand pinpointer. Cheap and super effective
