I'm new here, but some posters may already know me!

... Federal tax law, specifically IRS code section 61, states, “Gross income means all income from whatever source derived.” Yes, even our dirty clad we accumulate...

Yes. Certainly. Are you trying to insinuate that you DON'T list the income, on your annual income taxes, of the clad totals you find ?? :?: Shame on you

But seriously now : In the case of the conspiracy theories : It's not so much the "government's cut" (the percentage of your income tax bracket). But that .... supposedly .... Uncle Sam would come simply take 100% of it in the dead-of-night. That's what the Dents Run Dennis dude ("finders-keepers") was trying to claim .

All the "smoke" was not d/t any "fires". It was d/t his year's long-drumbeat begging for media and LEO attention. No red cent, gold or silver was ever seen. But rest assured: It was 'found", eh ?

Ok, here's a challenge for anyone here: Go there, create a post to this effect/belief/skepticism. See how long it lasts before you are warned, deleted, and threatened with ban. Any takers ? :p

But how does the ionic cloud stick to the map?

It doesn't. The plumb bob works on a totally different scientific principle known as ...gravity. :D

Now, the trick is to visualize the area in your mind's eye and let the imagined ionic cloud, affect your hand holding the bob. Then, when you feel the moment is right, mark the bob's position on the topo map. If you do it just right, you will find riches, if not, you'll have to keep trying. You'll eventually find something.

That is kinda like me swinging my 800. The VDI keeps telling me things that are often wrong, but eventually it gets it right. Don't get me wrong, I love my 800, but wished it could give me a clear indication whether my target is a penny or a dime.

... but eventually it gets it right. .....

But I'll bet that your nox 800 detector does better at targeting and listing the TID of targets better than "random chance", right ?

In other words, if you just walked out to random fields, pointed at likely spots on the ground and guessed "pulltab" or "penny/dime" or "foil" or "Nail", that : You'd have much less accuracy than if you used a detector for that job. Right ?

This is the best explanation I've ever received. It's all perfectly clear, now. Basically, if it works, it's the LRD, if it doesn't it's clearly operator error. Chance, of course, is not part of the equation at all!

Woot!

Bingo ! It's a bullet proof circular proof that they work. If it doesn't work, then: 1) The operator needs-more-practice, or 2) durned those sun-spots and solar flares anyhow, eh ?

I even had a conversation with a dowser once who made the claim that he "Never has dry holes". Thus removing "random chance" from the possible explanation. Since .... every time he went out , he did in fact find goodies. With zero dry holes.

I was very perplexed, until I pushed on him for more information as to exactly what he means. Turns out that he did not consider fruitless trips to be "dry holes". If ever he dug and found nothing, .... to him that wasn't the dowse rod *not working* nor was it a "dry hole". To him that simply meant there was an object in the ground , in that spot, at some prior time, that's since been removed (by another md'r or dowser or whatever). So that the halo or mineral traces of the object still remained. Therefore the rod was picking up mineral traces. Thus "not a dry hole". Or perhaps it was solar flares or moon-phases that interfered. Thus again, not a dry hole, since ... of course .... you can't blame the rod for outside interference like that, right ?

Thus this fellow could say, with a straight face, that he "never has dry holes". Crazy, eh ?
