I have no means of testing but 'old gold' is around 24 carat.

The 10 bezants 4 3 2 1 could belong to either the families of Leston, Bysell, or Foreyn.

The county of Cornwall in England county emblem is I think 15 benzants.

If any item is deemed to be treasure under the meaning of the act a 'reward' is offered on a 50/50 basis to the finder and landowner.

The amount is decided by an independent panel and the value is an auction value not a retail one.
