Get Ready EQUINOXERS’!!!

"The term " better " is highly subjective though. Exactly what better means , to what extent , and just who would even notice a difference are not covered by that description. In a choice between the two , if you sacrificed a small amount of one feature or ability but gained in some other aspect , would you even consider that a loss of anything ? .....if if FBS is as great as everybody says it is , would a " slight " reduction " in performance on like .0000003% of possible targets you might encounter actually translate to any real world usefulness out in the field ?"

True. But since they didn't say, what if better means 2 times better. Just as likely as 0.0000003%.

I believe they said FBS has an advantage on deep silver , .....and from what I hear , FBS chokes around iron. From the information available so far , MIQ does very well in iron , and though it dont have as much advantage on deep silver , its supposed to be no slouch in its own right. Most would give a slight difference in deep silver sensitivity for the ability to handle iron more efficiently , because if you are missing deep non ferrous because of the iron then you are not usually operating at full potential anyway , right ? " Advantage " does not necessarily always mean " better ". I guess it depends on perspective just like anything else tho.

Im a Deus full tones zero disc guy so Ill probably prefer the 50 tones on the Equinox. No need for me to set up specialized tone bins and tone sounds like you can with the 800. I never use that function on the Deus anyway

I'll most likely be using 50 tones most of the time as well. I'd still like the ability to shift the overall pitch higher, which is useful even in 50 tones. On the E-Trac we were able to make silver and high conductors really scream by raising the variability and threshold pitch. Hopefully we can do something like this on the Equinox 800 too.

The problem for me is almost always aluminum, not iron. So I need a wide band VDI scale. We'll have to see if 50 VDI's, including 10 for iron, really works out with the nox. The Deus scale works pretty well.
