Frustration setting in...

keep at it! do some fine tuning and you'll get those good targets. Just getting out there on a nice day is half the battle for feeding the addiction sometimes
 
....I did do some research on a vacant lot not far from my home, looked very promising according to Google Earth and Historical Aerials, but when I got there, a brand new set of apartments are taking up all the area that I looked at...LOL....

Yup. This is exactly why ... when it comes to faraway-sites-research, I have become a killjoy. And why google satellite/street-view can become your friend.


Just turned a long-range friend of mine on to a possible location that mind yield some 1800's coins (old for CA). And before even suggesting the reconn, had already "scouted out" the lay-of-the-land via 1) google man on street view, 2) past topos of structures-in-area. 3) current structures @ "lookie lous" who might object", etc.....

This is all a moot point if talking about "inner city" areas. But.... just sayin'.... :)
