FRUSTRATED with Minelab

PS. Any company that claims to be top notch will have great customer service. I know covid set many companies back but If we let them use it as an excuse for years we will have more of the same from them and everyone else. If they can produce so many detectors they can pay people to answer the PHONE. I have a Minelab and I won't be happy if I have that issue with them. And if they DO come out with a new detector that is what I want I won't be spending that kind of money if I hear many stories like this.

my headphones snapped in two and it took two emails and a week's time to get a response but they took care of business quick from then on. This was just a few weeks ago.

I just sent them an email yesterday afternoon about a 11" coil cable issue I am having. Hopefully they are prompt in replying.

Steve

As I say with a minelab you pay for performance and only performance, nothing else like ergonomics, build quality etc..

Performance is everything, or so they say. I guess that means ergonomics, customer service, etc. don't matter then?

This isn’t just a new or isolated issue with Minelab. They’re customer service has always been the bottom of the barrel, as long as I can remember I’ve been reading posts just like this one about Minelabs customer service. I’ve got no problem with Minelab personally and love they’re fbs technology. But they’re customer service has always sucked, no reason to say it any other way.

Wait till everyone's warranty start runs out on those Nox's... Going to be some :crying:.. then.. :shifty:

They will be making all of that money back they lost on the warranty repairs..:gettinmoney:....anyone want to guess how much a new control head cost?

My Guess is...399.oo. Just enough for you to say "Well that's better then buying a new machine" or... 499.oo ... "Well I may as well buy another machine!" ..

You are very close OBN. I paid just shy of that to have one out of warranty replaced for someone.

Garrett may be a bit behind on technology but they have some of the best customer service I know!

Okay, we get it, there are some MineLab haters here. Let's hear it from the people who have had nothing but excellent service from them. I'm one of those. Love my Xterra 705 and my next machine will be a MineLab until I see something better.

Since they got away from hellyco, I've had nothing but positive experiences with the PA repair center. This is concerning to me, but I find it hard to believe minelab wont make it right. Also, the less people swinging minelabs the better, go buy some Garrett's!

I don't think there are haters at all. But over a week now not answering emails or voice mails and broken machines under warranty is NOT acceptable.

If you are going to advertise new machines, you need to take care of your customers that have older ones under warranty. Pretty simple

I haven't seen a single post here from anyone about hating Minelab (and if I missed them, it's b/c they're in the minority). Rather, it's about hating Minelab's customer service and/or response times to an email or voicemail message.

I love my Minelab Excaliburs (4) and Love seeing Nox's where I hunt...::yes:

I agree on the service center in PA, Keith Leppard is a friend of mine and he turned the Kelly Co / Minelab service fiasco around 100% for the good. Not sure what happened of late. He may not be able to talk about it but I will ask.

I've always been one to instinctively avoid the mainstream and the proverbial carrot dangling in front of the public's nose. It might taste good at first, but I find there is nearly ALWAYS a catch or a sacrifice, or some garbage you have to swallow in order to have what is advertised.

With that said, I would like to try a Vanquish sometime just to experience SMF and see if the hype is worth it. Or... I might just wait until Nokta comes out with their first. I prefer the basic build and ergos of Nokta/Makro and also some Garret models LOADS over Minelab's.

As we stand makro probably is neck and neck with Garrett as far as customer service goes,, I'd even give makro the edge because Dilek actually follows these forms and personally contacts and helps people with product problems.
Makro is a safe bet to buy for sure, and I'm also looking forward to they're new multi frequency machine
