Fish bell?

I found this old piece today within a few feet of a Model T wheel hub cab, and a 1919 and a 1920 wheatie....also found a 1942 Washington quarter not far away.

Anyone have any ideas on the fish?

My guess would be some old timer was a wise man when he was younger. Probably had that made as a present for his wife to wear,heard her coming from 50 feet away.lol..Wish mine wore a bell. Congrats on the cool find.

Possibly a bite bell? So when the fish takes the line, the bell rings and you know you got one on?
