Im pretty sure it is real, if you turn it around and hold it up you can see rust from the iron in the ink on the signature.

I have a few $20's. in the 1960's I could get enough to paper a wall for $5. 70 years later I don't see many around.
My grandfather used to buy them from the Indians near the Rez. I kept a few of the nicer $20's and a $50. DR
