KT arrived home from lunch today and was notified of the arrival of a Troop of Geo. Washington commemorative proof halves by KT's Royal email, but the Castle guards had seen no one. A call to the USPO revealed that our sub postman had made the delivery, so the postmaster called him to find out what happened. In the meantime, the Queen arrived back home and picked up the delivery from the Royal Mailbox. The sub must have either not delivered it or put it in a neighbors mail box, ran by, got it and put in where it belonged! HA HA Always something with these postal subs on our rural route!

Anyway, these handsome gentlemen were carefully unboxed and examined....just Magnificent! Beautiful Proof coins in 90% silver! KT showed the Queen some of them and also the reverse, which has GW's home, Mount Vernon, and the back porch facing the Potomac River. We both remembered our visit there in the mid-1980s and sitting on the back porch in white rocking chairs, looking down on the river and thinking that almost 200 years ago George was doing the same thing. He must have spent many an evening with his wife Martha, enjoying that view!

We are very happy to have these very shiny guests in the Royal Castle with us for many years to come. The Royal Photographer took two pictures one of the 10 boxed coins and one of the 10 proofs in their original holders! Enjoy!

Those sure are 🌟 SHINY🌟 KT

 needed to go get my sunglasses.

Does KT have royal shade spectacles?

Super nice and unique addition to the royal coffers KT!
Oh, yes, GroundSweeper! KT has many pairs of sunglasses with various tints and shading, as any true aristocrat would have! LOL

KT cannot understand why these beautiful Proofs would sell for only approximate silver content, because in their super condition, they should be much more desirable than normal Bens and Walkers, but perhaps average people just do no celebrate GW's life as much as they should. There were a fair number minted in 1982, but none like these since, perhaps some think they are standard clad proofs or 40%Ag proofs, but the certificate of authenticity from the US Mint shows they are 90% Ag! KT does love a coin bargain! LOL When searching singles of this commemorative, the asking price to bid is nearly always around $19 a coin, but with tax and shipping KT only paid around $12/coin. KT still has not put them away in the Treasure Box, holding them where He can look them over a few more times before going into the "deep sleep" box! HA HA

Wow $12 a coin to the royal castle gates is royally superb, and I can imagine that really adds to their enjoyment factor as well. Did a quick search on the coins too. Very well done your majesty!

Verily Thy Majesty, your humble servant "LovestheShiny" truly had not seen this most recent Royal Post! Such Magnificent Additions to the Royal Coffers! They are beautiful coins, I can understand His Majesty's desire to look them over multiple times before putting them away to safe keeping. Congratulations on the Royal Additions!

There you are, LovestheShiny! Thank you for your gracious comment! The end of the year Royal Summary should be interesting for 2024, but KT will continue the search for additions to the Royal Coffers! HA HA

George Washington definitely would not throw one of these coins across the Delaware... too pretty!!

They’re beauties, KT… nice acquisition!
Back in 1982, the year on these commemoratives, I went to the ANA convention here in Boston. I purchased a few of the GW proofs and half a dozen of the mint state non proofs. Their values haven’t gone up much, but I still like them.
Thanks for sharing.
