Hi Folks-- in search of some help here. Over the weekend found one of the coolest items in my years of detecting. a 176_? coin on an old farmstead in upstate NY.
It's pretty worn, as you'd imagine, but looking for some help in IDing it as it has some features that make it stand out from all the British halfpenny images I've seen thus far. The most prominent feature that is throwing me off is the distinct "diamond" to the immediate left of the "shield" and directly above the date.
Curious what you all think.
Thanks!
