I played with my AT Pro, today, just air test . I sure enjoy looking at the pics and stories, for those who are still hunting ! :kingdances: :kingdances: :kingdances:

As long as there is less than 2" of snow and the ground is not frozen solid, I will hunt through the winter. It's my favorite time to be out detecting. Less bugs and less people!

I'm a beach hunter who only hunts the beaches during the cold months... it has no effect on my hunting... a lot of dirt hunters I know hunt the woods during winter... the leaves and other debris keeps the ground diggable for the most part.

It's always nice to see what others keep finding throughout the winter. Here in central MN, we currently have about 15-20 inches of snow in most places. :lotsasnow:

Hunting beaches for rings and jewelry that someone just lost seems boring and kind of sleazy to me. I'll take the hard ground full of 1700's coins and relics any day. At least I know the person who lost them won't want them back!
Then you can call me The King Sleaze of Pirates out there ! Sounds like you are full of Jealousy FBT. Warm sunny beaches , wrenches wearing strings and GOLD ! If only you could , you would... I also have a few friends who are ringfinders. They take great pride in going out of their way to return lost items. Go on YouTube FBT , and look up the Disney ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Sit back , fantasize , enjoy the ride. About as close as you will ever get....

.... Warm sunny beaches , ....

Yup. When was the last time you saw it snow in Los Angeles Kob ? Where I'm at Salinas/Monterey, it happened once when I was in grade school . And it remained on the ground for all of an hour or two if I recall. And I heard from my parents that it snowed in 1962, and remained on the ground for about 2 days !! Woohoo !

We got it rough here, I gotta admit. Eh ?

Gators, pythons, bugs the size of your fist, insane humidity, full of old goats, lizards and so on. No thanks.

I've never metal detected our saltwater beaches and only done a few freshwater beaches. As I stated, it seems like you're a sleazeball going around looking for stuff someone recently lost. And if you're only reason to go there is to eyeball the women, you need to get some action, guys!

It snowed last month Tom. In LA. Look it up

We do have beaches here in RI, you know! Rhode Island isn't called the Ocean State for nothing! DUH!

Again

As for YouTube's beach metal detecting guys, here's your typical dirty old man pretending to metal detect, while recording the bikini clad women. Most of his thumbnails are of the women who probably don't even realize he's recording them. Sleazeball, plain and simple.

Sea water all around you and never been ? Can ou swim , fear of the water or something ? Very weird with all that history , what a shame. So if I'm a proud Sleezeball with gold , what are you ? Maybe a Harrison Ford type, pretending to be some archeologist ?

I've been to the beach hundreds of times in my lifetime. Don't be silly. I've just never metal detected saltwater beaches. I even have a nice sand scoop that a friend gave me for my birthday, but have never used it. Just don't want to be the stereotypical old goat metal detectorist who's prowling beaches looking to grab bling that a tourist just dropped, all the while ogling the 18 year olds and secretly recording them. Gross!

That guys not secretly recording them. Plain as day , chest mount camera. No big deal. He isn't perving out. It's just YOUR mind in the gutter is all. Feeling guilty , care to confess ?

I guess that's not a bad description, but I'm not pretending. I AM digging up historical coins and relics from the 1700's. Something special about digging up a coin or relic that's 250 years old and lost by someone who died 200 years ago. To each his own, I guess.
