Its all about efficiency. Best detector garrett makes is the propointer!
What surprises me is that no one seems to make one that is close comparison to the Pro Pointer. Everybody has their opinions on detector preferences but when it comes to pointers its pretty much unanimous "ProPointer"!
Come on other manufacturers...make one as good as the PP so the prices can come down!!
Have no fear, I'm here to give everyone a BETTER alternative to the propointer, as I do with most of these pinpointer threads. I've used a vibraprobe my entire detecting career and have never wanted to switch to anything else. The advantage of a vibraprobe, it's waterproof and their is no switch on it. To turn it on you just turn it upside down. It's kinda like the vibraprobe is an ipod and the propointer is a zune.

Ok, you make a good point in a way... I guess this is what I'm really looking for here...
What is the REAL difference between a 16 HF PP vs the 100+ G PP?
Please site some specifics.
a $15.00 timex and a $10000 rolex both tell time
Does it have mercury inside of it?
Ok, I can see how using a pin pointer for deep targets would come in handy. Typically with my settings, I'm hitting things usually about 4 to 5 inches down, but 10 inches I could see where they would be handy. That explains it a little more, thanks. Maybe next time you could do it without all the sarcasm and attitude. Not everyone is "elite"
Sorry, I don't follow. Did zunes have mercury in them?
This whole convo is blowing my mind... truly one of the most rediculous threads ive seen... goodluck once u start digging deep targets there buddy
I really don't get why people pay SO much for a pin pointer. Honestly, I can locate a target and 99% of the time get it out of the ground with as little of a hole as possible just using my MD to locate it.........
So really, my question is, why $100.00 pin pointers?
Dude...No need to get nasty. Just pick another thread.
You say you can just turn it over to make it turn on, which would make me believe there is mercury inside of it, that when turned down vertical, the mercury flows down and completes the connection to power the unit on.
Take it easy on Buried. He's only been at it since January. With more experiance he'll understand the need.
