Whites Bullseye TRX $159.95

I think that before we make such statements we need to see it tested.
Better company... Garrett is as well
Better service.... I got a brand new GPP because I sent mine with a defect (can't be much better than that).
Better depth.... has to be proven.... they stated that the minelab had better depth and it was not so
Added features.... Yes that is correct, but do you really need them? Dual battery is nice (will have to see if there is no difference in depth depending on the battery you are using).

I've read and heard enough first hand experience from testers and seen the depth videos to know it's a keeper for me. I completely understand others having reservations.

The video's look good, and I have a lot of faith in White's so I think it will be a winner. Even if they have some glitches at first we all know Whites will fix them for us. I'd get one now but I'm poor so it will have to wait until spring.

The TRX is too quiet for my ears. Add in headphones and winds and roadway traffic, and I think it would be a PITA for me like the Pistol Probe is. Otherwise the TRX has it's merits. I somehow got the idea that the TRX would hit coins at 4 inches. With only an added inch in air, I will have to wait and see if it will lose that in the dirt, like the Minelab PPr did.

A 4 inch baseline in air for the TRX would have been more pleasing, since the TRX supposedly has detuning ability. I wanna see it perform in the dirt. I still believe that it will too quiet in tones for me, plus I read that the vibrations are weaker than the Garretts. martin

I'm glad the video helped! I hope more are put out, it is nice now that Whites is putting out a new pin pointer! The more the merrier, and more options is always nice too. A little competition amongst vendors never hurts either, I don't know much about this item but saw someone mentioned dual battery? Hmmmm sounds innovative! I better check into these closer. Thanks for posting this topic!

That idea in your head probably came from all the preachers on here saying it was gonna get 4 inches, be louder, blah, blah, blah, blah.... Not dissing the Whites PP, dissing those who felt the need to come on here and make outlandish claims with nothing more to backup their claim than " My dealer/semi-friend is a tester and he told me...."... with all the guys I have heard say that from in the last few months I gotta believe that Whites had 100+ testers in all corners of the US!:yes:

Not saying all who mentioned knowing info on the TRX in the last few months were full of it, but a good portion of those on many forums I frequent really have a case of "I NEED attention or I will DIE!!!! Sad really.

I believe some of the testers had quieter waterproof ones. Apparently they increased the vibration and noise (by not waterproofing) with the final product.

I respect my dealer and forum sponsors opinion especially since it aligns with the others I have read. In summary, it performs like a supertuned propointer with more features. That's a winner for me.

Once I found out it wasn't waterproof my interest died out. It just seems to me like another in a growing group of pretty much the same.....When someone comes out with a waterproof unit, my wallet will come out....

Even though it's not 4 inches, it's still 66% deeper than the Garrett. Looks pretty good to me.

I've sent detectors for repair to Whites and Garrett. Whites customer service is even better than garrett. And you know what to expect from a propointer since most guys own two or three so they have one that works. I sold the 3 I used to own. Think I got enough for one Whites pointer:lol:

The video on you tube is mine. I tested the pinpointer and really like it. But you have to understand in the video its alot better depth wise than garrett. The ones whites has ready for you to buy have been tweaked louder and more vibration than my test unit. Mine is solid black and the new ones have orange on them. I did another vid with my 10k gold ring also. My channel is treasurefinder66. Your gonna like this pinpointer. Really like it. It tests the same no matter what battery set up you use. You can shove it hard into the dirt with no falsing. Its deep in the dirt too.

Do you find the depth detection in the ground to match the air tests?

In the ground depth was very good also. Better than gpp. I tested the whites with the sunray. I like whites better. I dont like extra weight added to my detector and whites was equal on depth and better on a few items

Here is a quick test video that was done on youtube. Not tested in the field.

I think air tests are fun but in reality until it is field tested in real world situations by the average Detectorist I would reserve many of the claims. Now before all the Whites fans run me up the flag pole. Everything I've read about Whites has been very favorable but there not giving them away! The Garrett even with the Quirks is a proven unit! If the Whites can take care of some of the Quirks the Garrett has maybe, it would be worth the extra money? But as I've said in other posts I'm waiting to hear results in the mean time I have my Garrett PP and a couple months before I'll be able to use it even!! By then the verdict should be out? I would love to have a PP that is Drama free!!

If you have no PP or a HF, I would rather spend $20 (real price is a bit lower than list) more for a new design, more features and maybe none of the problems that are very well documented with the other PP. I will know if this was a good idea in about 10 days..
