You should have seen how many at pro's were for sale a month after they were released...
If you count the units sold (At Pro vs Equinox 600 and 800) from the actual time of physical release for the first say 6 months.
Equinox likely the winner by LARGE margin.
And even if you throw in AT gold numbers with At Pro numbers, Nox still wins.
Remember though, Internet and Facebook more prevalent now vs back when At series was first released.
The wireless capability helped Nox too somewhat.
Not to mention the popularity of Etrac and explorer series (being multi freq) helped too. Minelab name is pretty well known. And when I say popular, I mean popular even though they were higher priced units (fbs).
Go to FM forum and look at each At series subforum and Equinox subforum.
In even as little time has passed with Nox release, it already has over 20 percent of the postings of AT series subforum.
Imagine what the Equinox subforum there will look like in another year.
Remember At series were never popular for salt water hunting.
Nox seems is more popular.
Look at this link.
It shows the views of certain threads.
There is an Equinnox thread, and an At Pro thread.
Notice anything?
Nox thread is one of the top viewed threads in this sub forum.

The Equinox thread shown here on page on, is just one of many more too.
All machines still sell until hey are discontinued , the only reason the ATpro did so well , it was a good fresh water waterproof machine, other tan that, the tones , and Display screen sucked , it was top dog in that range until the EQ 600 landed , now like other manufacturer's , they will have to come up with a new beast, otherwise take a beating
For the first 6 months after the release of the Equinox, how many people actually had them?.....very few.
The number of threads viewed don't say how many detectors were bought.
Hunted the beach yesturday, i can tell you that, out of 4 nickels , 5 dimes, 4 quarters, 10 pennies, 4 sinkers, pair of sun glasses, from the tones , and numbers i new what every target was except the glasses , and sinkers, the tone pitch is all i didnt like and small ID screen on the only time i tested an Atpro, i hope the At Max is better 4 you Garrett guys, as tests have proved it doesn't even come close to the Nox, 1st impression only with an Atpro , those two things turned me off, and had the option to by it from him for 350, after 5 minutes i handed it back to him, happy hunting, Earl
Earl, what did the tests prove that made you believe the equinox is better than a at pro? I mean, they both detect metal, one has been a proven performer and one is still in the early stage of release.Kinda hard to make a educated guess so early on the equinox, especially if it’s based on a video or nailtest.Proofs in the pudding, head on over to findmall and look at the decade old Garrett at series forum.Full of gold and silver on every page. While your there, skip over to the equinox forum,75 percent of its preorder hype, and a few newer pages with a few posts of mediocre finds. Not enough there to say it’s a better hunter,or maybe I should say a better finder?
Head over to a few UK based FB groups or forums and you'll see the Nox gold finds.
Just remember, the AT series has had years of a head start, the Nox a few months, so your not being fair in your comparison.
If you think the AT Pro holds up against the Nox, that's fine and that's your judgement call. From testing the Nox the past month on live targets vs Deus with black 11" coil, i can tell you the Nox is seeing more targets that the Deus, and we know how good the Deus is vs the AT Pro
True can be said of 'other ' brand machines?
There is 'seeing' targets which is not the same as recovering desired targets?
Just to put the above into context try using a PI machine on a UK field and see just how many targets you will see/hear?
Yes it is seeing desirable targets (desirable to me) that the Deus LF coils either cannot see/or is giving such a poor response on in comparison, that's what i'm finding in my soil, very thin silver, small buttons, lead, hammered on edge, etc (and it's share of junk non-ferrous) many of these items at funky angles in ground.
It certainly seems to be able to see through my soil better, i can fill the mineral scale on the Deus on some of my fields, it's tough in places, perhaps the new coils coming will do better.
Of course other brands will find gold etc, the point i was making is that the Nox has only been on the fields for a short period in comparison to the AT line, the finds will come with time.
I am in the UK, and have a few hours with a C-scope Pi on my fields, i wouldn't be in a rush to do it again though.
Looks like the interest was extremely high.
Loads of Nox have already been sold worldwide.
.
There is a giant need for many to just become hobby loyal and "get off" the brand loyalty wagon. When a new very effective piece of equipment becomes available it should be judged on its function and not on its brand name.
There are a lot of people on here that are in a thick fog with tunnel vision and think there is only one detector. They think even if people find great targets with other detectors they could do better if they had the detector they recommend.
They are trying to turn this forum into an Equinox forum because nothing else compares with the Equinox..... and should NOT be listed.
