I see a few members are still trying to convince everyone that the nox is a dud. Lol. Most for sale are doubles or 600s that were temporary purchases to hold people over while waiting for 800s. There are a very small amount of sellers that just didnt mesh with the machine for various reasons but that happens with ever single detector on the market. And as it has already been mentioned most are selling for full MSRP or more. These things are not being dumped by the droves for pennies like some would have us believe. The way I look at it the less equinoxes swinging in my area the better. Means I will continue to find masked targets at my local parks.

I bought a new 600 yesterday and figured it's good for my intended use,field hunting where visual ID isnt important.Tone wise and the speed of the nox are great,if not I'd have never bought another.
But to sit here and say the nox 800 is selling for more than the manufacturer price isn't true,they've been going used in the $800 range...Same with the 600, going used from 525,,some are $600 but you notice they're not selling at that.And even the two nox 800 units on findmall for sale in the $800 range have been there at least a week.Seems no one's interested.
I'm confident the equinox is a good unit for intended purposes,and I know I was pretty harsh on it.Minelab from my experience is best know for superior visual ID,,and that's what I expected from the equinox..That was my fault,and I've actually come to realize it's a great machine for other things other than superior Visual ID,that's why I'm waiting on one from the distributor.

I said nothing about "manufacturer price" so don't put words in my mouth. I did in fact pay less than what they are selling used ones for. Do you actually pay manufacturer price when you buy a new detector? If so, you need to call a sponsor and get a real price.

I didn't pay MSRP either and got mine back in late Feb, early March.

I do apologize woodbutcher I had not looked at all the prices. Yes some are selling for less than what I paid new. Not by much, but they are indeed. I was wrong.

Went beach hunting today and couldn't get my headphones to sync up. Went home and decided to charge the 3 components and 1 of the magnetic charging cables is not working. Left a vm for Minelab to call me back. I hate to say it but maybe(just maybe) I should go back to an Excall 2. Not finding anything but bottle caps right now.

Lol,it's ok ,,I was getting ready to pm you and see where I could get one cheaper..I didn't intend to or mean anything bad about what I said,I was just saying that they are ready available on the used market,and cheaper than sponsors ..Not all tho,that's what I meant about the guys wanting$600 for a used nox 600,,that's more than a sponsor price a d exactly why those ones are still up.
I liked the nox,I really did..the ID had me madder than hell and I just couldn't understand being a minelab why they did that.
But,and this is the key part.Considering what else is out there a little flakey id isn't too bad.lol..Im gonna have some fun with the machine now I know what to expect,,it is really good at umasking,and tones is where it's at anyhow .Good luck with your rig Detector,will be looking for the gold posts

Well the 800 has found me my gold and more. It is my only detector at this time. I tried the 40 kHz alone and it didn't seem to do any better than Multi so I just leave it there. Knock wood, but both my Equinox 800's have worked flawlessly from day one.
I looked to see if I could find one of these lower price used 800's and couldn't find any? Found one for $800 but your can get new for really close to the same so why buy used? I figured if they are selling all over I'd get me another but I'm just not finding those cheap ones?
My yellow finally. What I found interesting was the DFX, my buddy still uses his in tot lots, hit this earring hard as a rock when closed but is invisible when open. The 800 hits it closed or open.

I'm curious as to how exactly you know this to be fact? Have you done some sort of survey, maybe written some algorithm code? Please enlighten us, I'm sure others Would like to know as well.

Uhmm no advanced math or survey needed. I simply read the sale posts. Most openly stated this was the case as a reason for selling. Others offered up the info once asked. Pretty simple.

I have a set of wired Koss that came with a explorer,they have the 1/4 end on them..anyhow,they’re the over the ear and full sized,and when I used them on my first 600 they sounded great.I actually don’t mind wired headphones,I had a lot of different wireless and really do prefer wired.

Actually , what Marx is quoted as saying was " religion is the opiate of the masses " . The old Dude's thoughts were people couldn't truly be happy unless religion was eliminated. Personally my opinion on the Nox is I wouldn't mind having one .

Hey Beachscanner.
Make sure your headphones are off.
turn on the detector and make sure the little person icon on the display on the right is showing. If not, press the 2nd button on the displays right side. Has the icon that looks like a person. Sort of.
Press and hold the top right display button until it changes from the wireless icon to an antenna and beeps twice. Usually about 8 seconds (searching mode).
Let off the button and on the headphones press the center on button and hold it. I will play the music but keep holding it for about 8 seconds (searching mode) and it will give a high beep. Maybe twice. Let off and wait about 5 seconds or so and they should sync up. The key is the second button on the displays right that looks like a person. Once everything is set, tone Iron Bias etc. THEN press and hold that right button to store all setting including the headphone sync.
You should be able to turn the detector on and then press the headphone on button until it plays music and they should sync.

I've spoken my opinion on it, but to restate.... The release of the Equinox has provided me endless hours of entertainment. I'm tickled to death it was released
