Hey, Tpmetal, I would love to hear your take on the Dense...umm, Dent's...Run debacle. Don't bogart the info please, I'm sure Tom won't mind if you share. And if he does just tell him to pull that stick out and go dowse with it.

You can show skepticism and engage in locker-room talk on ANY TH'ing media personality, ANY machine, and ANY legend, etc... But you can not take a critical view of that fellow or his pet ghost-stories. Can not try to show the holes in his story. You will immediately be shut down. If you persist, you're banned.

No "Treasure Legends" sub-forum here... We keep a compact forum here we don't like all the scrolling one must do on that other site...

Yep, they do keep them doggies scrolling over there, don't they? Glad to hear I won't wake up tomorrow and find a thread I started missing because some Miata driving hall monitor decided it belonged under a different subheading.
And thank you, but I had already found that thread, and am in complete agreement with the opinions given there. I was hoping to get a fresh point of view from someone who said they had actually been there.....or was it one of the other alleged bogus sites that carnival barker is presently hawking(?), hard to separate them when they all smell the same.
He reminds me of another carnival character who tried to pass off some Kentucky Fried 'Colonel' as an undead Jesse James back in the 30's-40's, only without the novelty and snake skin boots.
As you can see, my mind wanders to various and sundry subjects, so it's nice to know I won't be segregated and compartmentalized here. Thank you!

I'm not into any of that nonsense... life is too short to get all worked up over a make believe story... the more that reply to it... the more enjoyment the original poster gets..
We try to let our members work out issues.. we only get involved if we get a reported post..

Tom... if you read my first line you would see I don't care what about this stuff... its like Oak Island.. its a crock... If some are happy to follow the nonsense more power to them but for me its a waste of time... Oak Island is said to possibly be a tar pit.. the fact they have found nothing except the stuff they most likely plant and we both know why that is.. to keep interest for their followers...

But that begs the questions, why do people buy into the BS and why is it allowed?
Because trolls like that post their garbage all over the net and in the process create 'artificial facts' that the less diligent and gullible take as Truth. And that particular forum's chief moderator, a troll in his own right, is famous for promoting these 'Artificial Facts'. Whatever it takes to get more 'hits' and drive advertising dollars into the forum's pockets. They don't care how many are deceived or who's pockets they are mining.
Of course the trolls know this, and use the forum's internet ranking (achieved deservedly by the FORMER owner, not the current ones) to spread their BS and make it appear legit. And any person of Reason who speaks up and attempts to question their validity and inform the public they are being deceived, gets the axe.
Thankfully, it appears to have backfired on them. The post count has dropped so badly that in order to keep a daily post count above 200, they use shills like the bumper sticker salesman and Parrot Bots to flood the forum on a daily basis. Even then the 24 hr post count drops below 200 several times each day. It must be a full time job making all those nonsensical posts to keep the advertising dollars flowing.
It's a downright shame to see all the BS flowing out of that sewer right into the public domain.
Yes, it's nonsense of the worst kind. But nonsense that profits from deception. And I may be speaking out of turn here, but I feel that Tom and I are like minded in calling out the deception when we see it. I couldn't care less about the Trolls themselves. The irony is they wouldn't have a voice if not promoted and protected by those making a profit. Period.

Trolls are not welcome here.. members can post about anything as long as they play by the rules of the forum...if an issue comes up we try and take care of it in private as not to bring drama to the open forum... it only comes out when someone makes the mistake of posting private messages... they leave us no other option than to give them a time out... we rarely have had to ban members.. I can count on one hand how many members I have banned personally.. although I have banned quite a number of spammers

Welcome to the forum from Columbia SC! Without naming the other forum, I believe I had an account there but never really got into it there. I have seen the treasure legend that you are talking about, and the flaws are glaring, but we mustn't mention the flaws! There are treasure stories practically everywhere, the trick is to sift through the bs to find a nugget of truth.
