Member here Savannah Harps finds a real nice ring on beach.

Fishing Pier here fixing to open back up. They dump the fish guts in with the swimmers and surfers since the cleaning tables are where you are chest deep. I usually keep my scoop behind me since we have had a fair amount of shark attacks here.

I don't understand why people would want to swim where these sharks get a free meal... :?:

TN... I don't open all these video's anymore... he is a member here if he doesn't feel its important enough to share here then why do you feel you have the need to?
100% Dead on.....And it's not because he is trying to be informative or "help us out".

I followed your instructions you gave me.
I didn’t import any new persons videos.
Instead I imported an actual members video.

I thought the gent made a nice find.
So I shared with folks.
Had he made it with Nox. I would have posted. Just the same.

What is the fuss all about?
Nice find is recovered. And shared.
Next best thing for me since I don’t live near beach.

Cheers.

I hunt where Harps is i am wearing my stealth clothes. Everyone is heading to that beach. The one guy in a couple of his vids heads down my way and hunts once a week to take a break from the crowds. Cool dudes for sure!

Itsaring

I played the power ball tonight, if I hit , its going to be ocean front & bay on the treasure coast with about 10 rooms , all my buddies can hunt , stay 4 free  Ill be out of Delaware in a heart beat :lol::rofl2::scope::jawdrop::tropical:

Wow, I just saw this post and read through the comments. I had no idea that TN would share the video, but I appreciate that he did and everyone's opinions. It is very interesting how there is so much polarity towards or away from the D2. I will go ahead and post some pics since the video is already posted. I just haven't had much time to post in the last few days.

GREAT FIND! Keep hunting and showing us the way. I think when it comes to the Deus 2 and the beach there has been polarity [as you say] From my perspective because I have already tested the D2 my polarity is at both the machine and some people.

The machine: XP tells me this is a Beach/water hunting machine. However when used for this it is clear the machine and associated items in the box are not ready for prime time. The detector rod, headphones, and offset coil mount are all junk for beach/water hunting. Add the premium price XP has attached and you get my polarity. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with an aftermarket shaft maker last night on trying to get a proper beach solution.

Polarity with people? YUP, when others make excuses for what I outlined above.
Funny how I did not have to customize anything for the Tarsacci mdt 8000, but I share the same disgust with the offset coil.
I hope airing some of this out actually gets back to some of the manufactures for the next time they assemble a box of goodies.
In my opinion, XP would of not needed to spend anymore money to deliver a better product ready for it's intended use.

You would understand if you were here the past few months...

That's a nice ring. How's the anderson shaft working out on the D2?
I fixed the coil cover coming off with 4 zip ties - I put them on so the length of the ties was parallel to my swing, this way there's no catching on the sand/rocks.

The D2 for me is a work in progress. To make it work as my main beach machine I have modified everything except the controller and coil so far. I have many hours on the beach with it now but still feel I need more to master it. Felt the same way with the Equinox 3 years ago. I really enjoy the truthful feedback from everyone in this forum. I plan on doing a total review video on the D2 as a beach machine in the near future. Although, I still have a few things that I need to figure out to make it better. Yes, XP could have offered a separate beach set up for the D2 to better compete in the market. I would have paid extra for an out of the box XP beach machine with a carbon fiber shaft, waterproof wired headphones, antenna wire ran inside the carbon fiber shaft, and a coil cover with a harder plastic that is formed with rounded edges. I like the machine and will continue to use it, but it is not cheap to modify it to make it a beach machine IMO. Maybe XP will see these posts and use this unbiased information to make some changes? Thanks Beachhunt1 for the thorough review.

Yes, the Anderson Shaft is working well. I have had to modify it a bit, put the Detect Ed arm cuff on it and drilled a weep hole at the bottom. But it works.

That is a good idea to put zip ties parallel to swing direction. So far my coil cover is staying on in the water. But I know that it is coming.

Thanks for the info LongJohnSilver1

Reading Beachhunt1 post and now yours now I have second thoughts about the D2... I was going to buy for my fall/winter hunting season...

Depth isn't everything if it needs all these modifications.

I was planning on buying one this fall but if it needs all these mods then I will have to think about it harder... I may just skip it and buy another pulse detector...

Would be the first company that listened. Whites liked the S shaft for water machines that gave you carpal tunnel real bad. Minelab Excalibur shaft same thing. You don't know how to do mods on a water detector your life will be more miserable than someone who either does or gets someone else to do it. I already modded water phones since they didn't put that in production for some reason. Wire and shaft is next. And you get nervous charging a coil overnight if you got cats and they step on the coil and move the clip. Got to lock the cats up:lol:

XP delivered for it's intended use. It can do things the Nox and Tarsacci cant.

Tarsacci cost vs D2 cost. If you paid more than 1350 for the D2 you have the wrong dealer. I got mine for 1300. If you want to go wireless with the Tarsacci you will spend more money. The pitch of the head on the Tarsacci is terrible. It's deeper than the Nox in the water though. Heavier than the D2. The D2 is a superior overall detector than the Tarsacci. Now how much does that Tarsacci cost ? ;)

Just my opinion...I'm giving it more time also, I'm seeing way to many issues and it has only been out 6 months? The new issue is from hunters who hunt several times a week on beaches, the clevis to coil ears where there is a rubber bushing on one side and a washer on the other. Seems the clevis is cutting into the coil? Could be a matter of the user not cleaning well enough or maybe a design problem?

Also remember when you do "modifications" to a machine there is a chance it could void the warranty. Virginia Beach Max had a issue with his Nox, seems the handle to control head/battery area that mounts to the shaft handle broke. He took a picture and sent it to minelabs. They told him since he was not using the stock Nox shaft and a after market shaft, they would not cover a replacement control head.

What I am seeing, the land hunters are doing very well with the D2, seems to be opening up places well hunted. As far as the beaches, seems the same hunters that were finding gold with the Nox's and other machines..are still finding gold. Yet to see the D2 turn a no gold finder into a gold finder. The only encouragement for me.. as far as beach hunters using the D2... LongJohnsilver..........All just my opinion. So I am on hold, maybe a D3? For me craig..

Manufacturers have to start listening to the customer's demands, in my opinion the D2 should have come with all the bells & whistles & address the flaws, the down fall is , with this machine your stuck with what you got , and your cash is gone , the only thing nice with Deus is ,free updates to software , spending premium money for any VLF ( high end ) - now automatically > should come with premium updated parts , I will say the CTX with the telescopic CF shaft was done great , the Equinox price tag, when it 1st came out, was around 800 , but we all had to upgrade it - with aftermarket parts , which costs extra , same with the D2, now I see the Equinox jumped in price without upgrades , in today's economy & recession , high end price tag machines must come with all the bells & whistles , done , or loose sales , I am sure there will be a next version to this machine , with updates, hang tight , or wait for the next PI like I am , take it easy on the Kool-Aid   PS OBN just read your post , you beat me on the key board , I do see a D3 coming , with the flaws addressed , still waiting on my updated OBN moded AQ buddy , you can't swing 2 at one time :lol:

Mr.Mightbegold... kept saying it was the best wet sand detector ever made... he never said anything about it in the water and now we know why... its a dirt and wet sand detector unless you beef it up... and that adds to the cost....

Using Deus 2 "in the water" is one thing. Diving in relatively still lake or stream water is very different from using it submerged in moderate to strong surf, water with plenty of currents or fast moving stream water.

XP made the same mistake that Minelab did by offering a "do it all" VLF that can't do it all due to hardware/physical design limitations.

That is a really nice ring Savannah Harps......great find and it can help pay for your Deus 2 beach/surf mods.
