I'm in orange county..not exactly dutchess, but this was as close as i could find..im brand new to the sport..looking for people to go hit the field with..
let me know if anyone has some time to hunt.

hey I lived in Dutchess for a bit, Wappengers Falls then moved back to Ulster County I just got into treasure hunting and not a bad start found 63 coins I started Nov 18 2011 I use a minelab sovereign old xs and I have the old minelab sovereign great machines give me a shout. Hi Gary, I researched westchester county parks and there is no mention about metal detectors and I went to the Putnam/Westchester detecting club permit section and they have no mention of permits requirement for county parks, http://www.greattreasure.com/id4.html

Assuming the weather will be ok I plan to be there about 7 am just before low tide which is at 8 am. I look forward to seeing my fellow MDS

Too bad. If anyone is still inclined to find a beach close by, my son and I spent a few hours last week at Sherwood Island in CT. Just about 30minutes up 95 from Rye Playland. A bit to cold for my blood however.
