Detector resales

Maybe I’m the outlier here. I’ve owned several modded Excals and they were great. The weight killed me but more importantly, there were so many iron saturated sections of beach that seemed unhuntable with the Excal and that’s not the case with the Nox.
The Excal would null constantly in the heavy iron. The alternative was to dig every scrap of iron in PP mode, hoping a keeper was being masked. Now I don’t dig iron signals hoping there’s something good underneath. The nox lets me hear those targets in the iron which was a game changer.

Craig, I don’t care what you say. The Excal is NOT picking all those good targets out of the iron. Not without digging a million holes and tons of trash. The nox does it with ease. I think it just gives the user more feedback as to what’s under the coil than he Excal.
Where I think the Excal will beat the Nox is when we starting hunting in sub freezing temps.
I’ve notice machine displays tend to get laggy in cold temps but you don’t have that worry with the Excal.

Also I LOVED my deus and swore I’d never sell it. I replaced it and the Excal with a 600 that cost less than half of what either of the other machines would.

Ive seen the NOX get gold near concrete/rebar my CTX couldn't get near, but I haven't been so lucky to find such a spot with mine. In the meantime I'm having targets vanish and am missing on edge targets with it. It is hitting things my CTX ignores or warns me about and no real good targets yet. It's capable but needs more work. An excal and others are just more fun to use. The next gen will be awesome :-)

Not the smartest thing to do.. When you have an epic failure with it you'll of wished you sent it in because now your warranty is null.

Warranty goes hand in hand with an excellent product. The products that are the best tend to have the best warranties because, well frankly, they don't really even NEED to validate that warranty. However when they do, it's icing on an already wonderful cake.

Take TRex scoops for example.. They were supposed... SUPPOSED to of been one of the best scoops around. With that hype I bought one. The welds sheared.. They didn't snap. They simply sheared.. Total garbage. I called them and they basically told me to screw off.. REALLY? Send it back on your dime.. We MIGHT fix it. If we do you'll get shipping fees on the repaired/replaced... SCREW OFF. I did the 25 $ local tig weld repair and threw it in the corner as a last resort back up and ran to buy a Stealth. 3.5 yrs of abuse and it's dented up but rock solid. I called the owner about the dents, he said sure send it back I'll replace it no problem... Example of an excellent product with an excellent warranty. Don't knock warranty.

I don't need a warranty on anything I need related to my hobby... besides my 720I was not meant for the punishment I give it by digging in the boulders and rocks... I would not send it in because I abused it... and btw I am not knocking Chucks warranty.. I don't dig in fluffy snowflake sand or whatever they call it in FL and beaches with nothing but sand.. Just ask Surfmaster what I hunt in.. when he came up.. he looked lost..

You did not give the detector enough time to learn it... this is my second go around with the Excal... my next detector will be a pulse... I am not afraid of iron or digging in it... the majority of my gold came out using a pulse... I miss it especially after Sandy wreaked havoc at our beaches..

I'm happy that you are happy with your Nox.. I have no interest in one for beach hunting... I have done very well with my "old school" detectors and god willing will in the future..

I would go depth per depth against a 800 any time......No way a 800 can beat a E-trac for depth!!!.....If you know your E-trac!!!

Yeah if the target is all by itself with nothing around it. Tell me about that that silver sound. That never mattered to me. The E Trac is a dinosaur. Extinction is going to happen.

I use a 13” ultimate.. and find silver right next to iron.... guess you just have to know your machine?

I can't say what it is but I feel more confident with the excal. I like the weight of the nox but I can't stand the ID numbers are all over the place and with 5 tones I personally have a real hard time determining whats what. I've started using all metal to listen for the grunt which seems to help some. Still no gold with the nox. In the water the excal rules as weight isn't so much an issue. I sold my sov gt to get the nox- biggest reason the sov was so slow. Everybody has their own thing-HAPPY HUNTING:yes:

I curse my ADD George.. I didn't read the above part of your reply..

I totally disagree with you here.. my Excal or Gt for that matter was very good picking gold out of heavy iron.. that eagle rising ring was in heavy iron.. I hunted the rocks at iron beach where a lot of the iron was had no issues pulling gold from it... if I remember correctly you and your sword did not find gold... its about learning your detector George.. I was killing the gold in the heavy iron...

I dig targets that give the tiniest squeak in heavy iron. when I get a null with a little noise I investigate a lot of gold has been recovered this way...

I don’t know why you dismiss my ability to run an excal. I’ve owned several and had a lot of hours on them. I know how to pull targets from iron with it. I know about the wiggle trick to try to bring signals out of the nulls. I’ve pulled good stuff from iron too and I know how to use an Excal. The sword never saw gold because I never used it. It was a backup machine.

What I said is the Nox is far better in that iron than the Excal. If you’d stop being so stubborn and embraced the new technology, you’d see it for yourself.

Damn you old dogs refuse to learn new tricks.
Next time we hunt together I’m going to follow your tracks through the iron and find what you missed.

I'm dismissing anything but do not say the Excal is not capable in iron... its more than capable..

Do you know why I like the Excal? I don't have to look at or have a stupid screen...

I hunt by tone with a discriminating detector..

Look George glad you love your detector.. I love mine and don't need or want another detector... if I was to purchase it will be a pulse or a nice GT.. :D

I hunt by tones too. Just because it has a display doesn’t mean you have to stare at or use it. I don’t use the display 95% of the time and never use pinpoint mode either. You know I’m just busting your stones right.

Can I come, I want to hunt behind you then Earl is hunting behind me with his Nox....

Here's what I think, and I do not own a Nox. A few gifted Excal hunters can do very well in Iron, but the Nox just does it so much faster and for you.

It would be an honor to get schooled by you OBN. Craig knows I’m just busting his balls.

Don't you have some roadkill to prepare for dinner tonight?

...Halloween Week is always a Big festive haul for an Urban scavenger!...We are having 'Porch Pumpkin' soup with road flattened possum, Apple pan dowdy sure is awesome! 'Totlot Surprise' with cast off candy, and some Noodle Ramen from the church food pantry! YUM YUM!

Im not gifted at anything except pissing off Excal owners. Lol

You can't possibly piss me off George...

Do you see me getting angry or frustrated at the beach when you find gold or platinum and I didn't ? I have scored plenty over the years.. just getting out makes me happy now with my busy life and vertigo

This is a hobby which I enjoy and my tool of choice is the Excal Blue... move along young-in

Whenever Google Glass came out I always thought man that would be cool if Minelab came out with something similar, like "Minelab Specs" or something. Where they could connect wirelessly to the detector and show you the VDI in the top corner of your lens as well as depth, etc. No more looking down at sun-glared screens, and they could even make them work with the under water machines where you normally wouldnt be able to see the VDI.
