Coin Roll Hunting Mother load

Let's just say he about doubled what he spent on the bag in silver alone... not to mention the clad value when he turns it back in... You could just about buy a new Etrac and a new Excal!!!

PS... my CRH trip after I read this, I found 3 silver dimes out of my $250 worth... what now!!! haha!! :p

I think 3 dimes in one box is awesome. I have been through several boxes of dimes and I only have 2 silver dimes to show for it. Congrats!!

Unbelievable! I just can't get over how many Walkers and Franklins you got in that bag! Wow!

This inspired me to do my first ever coin roll hunt!

After I finished Christmas shopping, I still had a $100 bill in my pocket, so I stopped by my local credit union and requested rolls of halves. They told me they don't have those, so I went for quarters instead (I have since learned I should focus on dimes or nickles.)

Well I got through 9 rolls of quarters and nothing. Finally, on the last roll opened, the 2nd to last coin was this 1964-D Washington. I almost struck out!

Not as impressive as yours, but not bad for a quick stop on the way home! I am hooked on this CRH thing!

That is awesome. Quarters do not normally give up many silver. They have been searched out pretty hard, so finding one is quite the accomplishment. Something to be proud of for sure. I search nickels on a regular basis, I seem to have the best luck there as a lot of people do not know about the silver nickels.

Funny how different it is in different parts of the country. Dimes are really good here. I've found 5 silvers in one box on multiple occasions. If they don't have halves I get dimes.

This coin hunting in rolls may be something to consider once it gets way too cold outside to metal detect.

wish i woulda started CRH'ing about 20 yrs ago....i could only imagine how good it was then

I'ma wondering if you should go back to that there bank and offer to buy the quarter, dime and nickel bags as well.
I'da take a chance and your still ahead of the game.

Update on the bag of quarters from the same bank.

When they emptied the bag of halves, they also emptied the bag of quarters and pennies. It dawned on me the next day that if the people who brought in the halves had also brought in some quarters, I could have another unbelievable find. I called the bank and asked if it was still there and she said yes. I had visions of getting the bag and seeing standing liberties and silver Washingtons staring back at me, but such was not the case. Still got one silver quarter, but I can be pretty sure the people who dumped the halves didn't have any quarters. Oh well, I'm hoping to get the bag of dimes next week. I love the thrill of the hunt anyway, so It will be fun going through 10,000 dimes, but my eyes are going to be pretty tired by the time I'm done.

Its nice to meet the family..... The videos are great and should remove any doubts people may have. This could not happen to a better person. What a experience! You have my envy as well as a hearty congratulation's. Jack

Holy Chit! The King nearly fainted!:shock::yikes: Busting His Royal Can for a year hunting, learning various machines and out in the heat, the kids, the mosquitos and all the rest and you score BIG from one bank buy?

All KT can say is, Somebody's got more than their fair share of luck! Glad you got it and it did not go back to the mint!:laughing::laughing:

Sounds like KT has an idea of what to do with some of his extra cash when He retires!

great find im sure, however to me, its about the metal detecting and finding buried treasure, i mean good for you thats a great bunch of silver, but how are you gunna replace the ones you kept?, thats a whole lotta money, thats not to say you cant afford it, but i know that i couldn't invest that much into it.
however well done

I gotta say, I think finding treasure in the ground is more satisfying. you feel like you earned every one you found. I certainly didn't earn these, I just got really lucky. unfortunately I can't dig all year as the ground freezes, so I crh during the winter months and especially around Christmas time. seems I have the best luck this time of year. never dreamed of this luck.
regarding replacing the 190 coins. its $95, but if I really need it, I can sell enough to make that back.

update :
I am buying every bag of coins that bank has from around the time the halves were dumped.
so far:
Quarter bag #1 (complete) 1 silver Washington

Bag of dimes (complete) 5 silver rosies 1 merc 1 silver Canadian dime

Quarter bag #2 (10% complete) 0 silver.
Penny bag (at home, still unopened) no wheats or Indians spotted yet.

Bag of nickels (still not full at bank)

very happy getting a merc. and the other silver but it's pretty safe to say that whoever dumped the halves didn't bring much if any other silver. I had to try, and I'm glad I did. it would kill me wondering if they brought in all kinds of dimes and quarters. ill post pics of the other silver when I get through all the coins.

but how are you gunna replace the ones you kept?

Strange question!!! He's gonna just add a bit of his pay check in paper to have his money back! Profit is profit, whether he takes it now or sits on it! Someone stated he is $8000 up on this...Don't know about you but KT would take that several times a month!:laughing::laughing:

silver Dimes and Wheat pennies

So here are the results from the bags I grabbed from the same bank. Not bad, but certainly not the same results as the halves.
