Ascend To The "APEX" (Garrett)

I signed up for the reveal but not sure what I have to do next?

You give them your Blackcard. They will put a $5k hold on it. Then they will notify all those who have been "blacklisted" when you will get your new APEX. Upon the delivery will be your receipt and possibly any credit due.

I only hunt saltwater beaches and i primarily use two garretts and a Fisher, if there has been waves and tides ill take the cz and work the low spots when the sand gets so black multifreqs get weak i take the infinium on most other days i take the at pro for me its way more efficient on the dry sand and will work if i see some potential in the wet sand

did you see kelpman the other day? He was digging deep with his Ace.

I will post rule number 3 of our forum...

3. Constructive Posts vs. Bashing
- Constructive dialog about dealers and/or detectors is allowed, but the bashing of either is not permitted.
- Rants and rudeness, cause tension for everyone involved. Please attempt to remedy your problem with members/sponsors via PMs.
- When threads/posts become offensive or get reported, we will close them, or remove/edit the offending comments, and possibly delete the entire thread if necessary.
- Troublemakers/trolls/spammers have no place on this forum and will be dealt with as the staff see fit. Administrative Suspensions and banning is enforced.

If we get called back to this thread we will move it to deleted threads or close it...

All the trash talking stops now.

I wouldn't expect a triple. Those are far more rare than home runs. :cool3:

What would it take for a detector manufacturer to hit an inside the park homerun ? Combo pi. multi frequency, separation faster than Deus and 20" depth for small gold rings ?

Garrett has everyone speculating about the Apex, which was the intention of the teaser videos.

I am looking forward to seeing the new Apex, just happy to see something new and exciting from Garrett. I have used Garrett machines since the early 70's. One thing you could always count on is they are always quality products at a fair price.

Seems obvious to me. The Simplex stung a little. Notice apex sounds similar.
Don’t like the name apex they have selected. Unless the detector actually does in reality for price paid lead the pack.
Right now Simplex is the Apex imo.
Could this change on May 15?
We’ll see.

Little surprised the msrp for new apex hasn’t been revealed. Unless I missed.

The letter X sure gets used a lot with detector names. Lol

Btw, see the latest video by Xp?
I think there are some comments in it pointed to simplex.
Talking about cheaper detectors basically being subpar. Like crappy assembled, etc.
Video can be seen here.

Yeah, I've learned not to get too jacked up about any detector until its proven by users(experienced users). I'm not sure there is going to be any revelations in the detecting world as long as VLF is still the norm.

Everything that hits the market seems to be a good detector, but also possesses drawback. If we remember about 1.5 years ago, the Nox was supposed to "Obsolete" other detectors. I'm thinking the next few won't either.

Garrett just makes a quality metal detector for the hobbiest.Always have. Can't believe all the drama going on, speculation and comparisons to a machine we don't even know anything about

Simplex means simple. Apex means the highest point. Two different paradigms. Learn the difference between the two words and it will help you discern the difference between the two detectors.

Exactly. So why would one troll it without knowing anything about it ? We know three key points thus far. Iron volume. No need for coil changes. The head is a new design and will be much lighter. When Garret wants us to know more they will let us know.

All this "drama," speculations and comparisons are exactly what Garrett wants.

For me, it would basically be an Equinox 800 in the form factor of the AT series or Vanquish detectors (but water proof to at least 3 meters). It would also use AA batteries.

The 2 main things holding me back from the Equinox are the lack of AA batteries and the lack of an S shaft.

I'm peculiar, I know.

I can't believe people have to report posts. Childish. Take your disagreements/arguments to PM.
Don't like what is conveyed in a post, then make a counterpoint or move on.
To me reporting a post is like running to your mommy or daddy and "telling" on your siblings.

Anyway, I'm curious about the Garrett Apex. Very interested in what they came out with.

Who knows, I haven't clicked with my Equionox, and if at the end of this years season still haven't, will be looking to sell it.

Who knows, maybe grab an Apex if initial reviews are positive.

P.S. I'm not knocking Minelab with my opinion of the Equinox, and not pushing Garrett!

Bill I agree with you.
Maybe you’ll find your detector match for you, one you can meld with.

Now, if all folks did is talk peaches and cream about any detector really, wonder if this could/would stifle better future released models by any manufacturer really?
I think so.
Just go back a few years (around 5) and look at what folks had to choose from and what features were available and at what price points. Things have changed for the better!!!
I know for a fact some things I have said ( negative things) about certain detector models has indeed been thought about and action was taken on and brought forward on future models.

Any manufacturer should welcome constructive criticism. And they should read this stuff.

The larger sample of users ( their opinions) the better. Paints a much bigger picture.

For example.,
I could indeed truly believe and post about one facet of a model detector made by manufacturer X, and later on it’s manufacturer Y who actually incorporates (corrects or adds) what I pointed out. Could be manufacturer X that incorporates too. Manufacturers, one would think would be watching for trends.
Meaning if they keep seeing the same negative being talked about on their model detector this needs attention.

Case in point.
Simplex latest update did this that. Addressed folks concerns.

I think one day AA batteries won't be required on any detector. S shaft is ok. The Nox is not even close to the F-75 in ergonomics. That is the most ergonomic detector there is not named Deus. I would like to see Garret go in that direction re the F-75.

Sadly, you're probably right. And it's not just any detector, but many other consumer devices. Companies pushing forced obsolescence and attacking the DIYer isn't going away anytime soon.

As for the Fisher F75, yes, I love the feel of that detector. It's on my list of next possible detectors primarily due to its ergonomics.

I have the F 75 SE LTD. People think the Nox is fast. Set the 75 on FA process and it's faster. It's a great detector. Still, the key to any detector is time used. Learn it and you will find stuff.
