any smokers ever try...

I made the switch yesterday to the e-cig. After the holidays I just could not afford to spend a whole bunch right off the bat, and being that I live in a rural area there isn't a whole lot of choices. I will order over the internet for something better in the very near future. The one I got seems rather heavy so it is awkward for me to hold, and the atomizers are a bit too strong for me (had no choice in those other than menthol). On the positive side, it works. I did quite well with it yesterday only having a few puffs of Mikes analogs here and there, not even totalling a whole cigarette. I am planning to log my progress each day.

I have 3 smokers in my home, and I am going to try to convert the other two over to the e-cigs too or they can go outside and freeze while smoking:yes::D.

Here's to 2012 being smoke-free:cheers:

I got my wife a kit a cignot.com after a lot or research, they sell the ego kit with two complete units, chargers etc for $59 and offer free shipping as well, had it in 2 days,,works awesome....bought the juice at tasty vapors, they have a million flavors

I've been using the Joyetech eGo-T for a little over a month. Yesterday I ordered the new eGo-C. It has a few improvements over the T so I'll let everyone interested know what I think next week.

I will post some pic

Im using my iPhone so I can't post a photo now but will give you an idea of what they are

Laptop acting up!

No pics but just placed an order at virgin vapor since its 10% off is ending. I use the organic VG 90% thinned with 10% distilled water. Going to try their ECO liquid this time in Buttercream Mint. I also love their black cherry marshmallow. I use a Riva but ordered another Joye 510 for public use. More discreet. Also ordered these Bud Sapphire 510 Cartomizers.

I am 28 and smoke almost 2 packs a day. $6.75 a pack... I have been smoking at least a pack and a half for the last 11 years. Since high school...

I have tried those "electronic" cigs and I donated them the next day to a friend. They did nothing for me.

I have no plans of quitting and I thoroughly enjoy every smoke I have. I will enjoy any part of life I want and worry about the health issues later. Only live once so enjoy it.

I am happy for those that have been able to quit and or slow down but for me these things are useless and not worth the money... I cant believe how much some of you spend on these things lol.

Heckuva thread to make your first post on and quite loud. But I agree with ya. I enjoy smoking too. But my kids want me to quite and Im ten years older than you. I always go by the saying "Live for the day, cause we all gotta go sometime" But I guess I wouldn't mind stretching it out a little...

Ive been researching these things here and there all day. I don't want to spend alot of money in case they don't work for me. Anyone ever heard of My Fuma e-cigs?

I smoked for for over 30 years, smoked my last cigaret on wed nite aug. 11 2005, the nite I had a stroke, it was pretty easy for me to quit

How much we spend??? I've spent a total of $185.00 on e-cigs and supplies in the past 78 days. Yeah, sure is a lot of money. Now, take the two packs a day I used to smoke and subtract $185.00. I'm just a little bit ahead with $1487.92 in my pocket. My reward to myself for saving that money was an E-Trac. I am still putting the money away that I used to spend a day on ciggs. I am planning a vacation for my family. It will take me another few months to save a few grand.

Although it is not about saving money for me...it's about me staying alive as long as I can to provide for my kids and wife. It's about not waking up every morning hacking and coughing. It's about not waking up every morning feeling like an elephant is sitting on my chest. Most importantly, it's about just waking up every morning.

Do you have kids? Are you married?

By the way, welcome to the forum.

I quit for a long time then started smoking again. I'm quitting for not only myself but my children.

your spending alot more than anyone who's using the e-cigs. after the startup kit purchase (25-100 bucks depending on the unit) i'm spending less then 40 bucks a month for my refills while your spending over 400 a month on a 2 pack a day habbit.

I went to Walgreens. They sell an E-cig called Finiti. It is a disposable e-cig for about $10. It is equal to two packs of smokes. I bought it to try it out. If I can smoke this thing for 2 days and not really crave a real smoke, I will buy a starter kit. We'll see how it works...

I think people tend to vape more than they smoke real cigs at first. Vapeing is NOT like smoking a real cig therefor you must keep that in mind. For me at first, vapeing wasn't as enjoyable as a good ol' cig. It does however get rid of your NEED for nicotine. Live with that and your on your way...

This thing has one funky taste, aftertaste and smell. I can smell it like a normal cig afterwards. I hope others have a different taste or I'll be on the ole cancer sticks for awhile...

Like was posted earlier. You get what you pay for. If your serious about giving up the cigs, spring for a good starter kit, get some good tasting juice and be happy...

Smoked for close to 40 years and knew I'd never stop until I was ready. 3 years ago I was catching a cold and I told myself I'm done. Hardest thing I've ever done in my life and the most rewarding. I have no desire to ever smoke again. People smoke around me and I just smile because it doesn't make me want a smoke at all and that lets me know I will never ever smoke again.

And I agree with that except I dont think Walgreen's would be selling some second rate e-cig. Especially since it was $10 for basically two packs of smokes. This actually burns my throat and makes me cough. But I do agree that the other flavors might be better. I wont be done trying this either way...

stick with it Sean. so far this has been workin out really well for me, tomorrow (thursday) will be a full week that i've been completely tobacco free. i should have my juice by the weekend and i'll see about refilling my own cartridges which will be even more savings....that should drop my 40 dollar a month vapor habbit down to 15 bucks a month.....sure beats a 200 dollar a month tobacco bill i had before.

I am not completely tobacco free yet, but sure getting there. Has not been a week yet, and I have cut down tremendously from a pack a day to a pack a week. I think if I had a lesser nicotine cartridge, and better tasting flavor I would be even more successful. When at work I am completely tobacco free.

Dogpound, you are doing great and I sure like all that money you are saving yourself, you smart fella you:D Congratz!!
