I was making lunch at the same time lol , not sure if there are others with a similar frame, but it is in the ball park , if it is original and a 1851 the serial number places it between 1853 and 54 manufacture http://www.proofhouse.com/colt/index.html

Well, too high serial for it to be from 1851 Navy, but it is from somethink similar.

I know this house was on the 1875 plat map but I have no idea when it was built. I did find an amazing 1894 barber half in the same site. Its just a field where a house once set. Love these places

you are correct, I was off by a digit , the 1861 has a similar frame and the serial numbers go up high enough

one more question. Where are you checking the serial # at. I don't see how to do it

I believe that list has a typo in the 1861 numbers, only 38000+ made so it would be just 5 digits max.

Don't forget that there were many copies of the Colt back then. Manhattan made some that looked pretty much Colts and so did others. The parts to all of them were pretty much made the same way and look very close to the Colts.
