Need some help on this one. Silver was on one side, copper on the other. Letter F stamped on the convex side. Little larger than a quarter.

My first thought is a button crown, but they have a rolled edge that retained it to a hoop plate. The "F" isn't very formal, like what would be used on a military uniform. My thoughts are now leaning towards a printing press/type set key cover or something of a sorts. Somebody will probably chime in with more info!
 
Not like the keys on a Linotype or Graphotype. The convex shape wouldn't be ideal for keystrokes.
 
I’m pretty sure what you have there is a freeze plug for an engine
I don't believe a freeze plug as they have a flater bottom with sharper, but still somewhat rounded, corners going up to straighter sides.

That's a freeze plug out of something for sure or a Frank Zappa concho
 
After some googling that type of freeze or expansion plug is often called 'welch plug' though there is confusion with terms :)
