Help with marks inside a ring

I found this awhile ago and thought it might be silver but wasn't sure. Now that I cleaned it up and looked inside I just don't know. Any thoughts would be a lot of help

I agree nobody resizes costume.
That said I think the ST is the start of Sterling.
It looks like when it was resized they filled the ER and cut off the rest in the resizing process.

Could be STS Jewlery Co.

The additional lettering was likely soldered-over to secure the re-sizing slice.

Can you get a better pic of the Makers Mark?
 
I have a ring that is stamped Ster inside, it was used as a stamp for older sterling rings.
 
The G is still there too, so I think it did have the whole word.
