Just dug my 3rd IHP from this old site I've been hunting all year. 1880[emoji2]
Also a small gold plated piece of jewelry, was in 2 pieces found both in same hole. 9 rusty Levi's buttons & the world's tiniest coat hanger, lol.
Also a tin lid that says "Colmans concentrated mustard oil for rheumatism" haha. Thanks for looking

Great save. Is that color normal for your dirt? I don't think I've seen one like that. Don't forget to add it to the big ihp thread

Yes, this is how they come out of the ground here, they are not green. They do ring up in the zinc range but with no deterioration. Our coins seem to last a long time when they're buried.🌵

I like the Indian cent... Maybe there are some more underneath the cactus?? Only one way to find out.

Congrats on the very nice looking Ihp, and relics Mikey. I wish the one's I find would come out looking like that. Good luck. Mark

I'm not sure if you ever mentioned detecting in the woods, but...get to the woods! I found 2 ihp's in the woods that were in excellent condition. Blew me away because they usually come out really toasted here, too. Something about the chemistry of the organic matter seems to be much more gentle than the actual dirt.
