Today my boss said the lady that owns the 1787 house I hunted last weekend texted her and said I can hunt the 1850 homestead they own. The house is empty and is deep in the country down a mile dirt road. The house had some amazing wood work but let me tell you it was a eerie feeling looking up at the old house cause I was waiting to see a old women in a Victorian gown staring back at me lol!! And I swear I could hear noises coming from the house!! Anyways it was a pretty uneventful hunt as far as coins go. I only found a couple of clad coins but I did manage a few old relics. For some reason I’ve never done good hunting these old homes. Ty for looking and HH!

Cool old relics!

I agree about old country homesites. I’ve detected a few dozen, and they usually aren’t very productive. People didn’t have the money to lose back then. Many have already been detected over the years.

Thx, your right about them being poor! Up north my friends find lots of old coins at old home sites

Great pics Vic. That site just looks good, funny how a site like that holds very little. Hope you can get back a find a couple really good keepers. Congrats on the relics. Trapper

The first image of the house made me go, “whooa!”

What a cool old place. That button is pretty sweet.

Pretty cool finds. Amazing photos of that property. Also amazing you didn’t find any old coins. Crazy! Beautiful area, thanks for sharing!

Congrats on the old relics. That was nice of the lady to hook you up with another permission even if it didn't pan out. I never have luck at old places like that either so I feel your pain. You just never know until you hunt it though!

You're not alone Vic...….I've had limited luck hunting old homesteads. Nails and soda cans are the usual finds:laughing: Best coin I ever found at an old house was a Standing Liberty Quarter and that house was built in 1940.

My buddies up north find all kinds of coins at old places, people here in the south were poor!
